Hi!

I'm really not sure what is going on with my female cat. She has some sores that are appearing on her back and near her tail. We had always thought it was from our male cat since he likes to attack her. Our cat, Gizmo, heâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s fixed but sometimes he gets pretty rough with her. Snickers is a very timid cat and thin. She eats all the time, but recently she has started going the bathroom on the floor. Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve changed the litter and taking care of it. She acts fine, but Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m worried about her. We are going to take her to the vet tomorrow to see if they can do anything. She has always been a small cat. We are very worried about her.

While you're at the vet, ask them to do a urinalysis to see if she has a urinary tract infection. That could be why she's pottying outside the box. The sores could be anything from bug bites to bites or scratches from the other kitties. Keep us posted on what you find out.

Okay. I will ask them about that. I'm really hoping it isn't something serious because I would hate to lose her or her brother if it's something passed on. I did notice her sides of her stomach are sinking in too. I will let everyone know what I find out! I'm hoping for good vibes for our cat.

She needs blood work too. The weight-loss indicates something serious going on. So have her urine checked and make sure the vet takes blood to check her organ function, and specify you want thyroid (t-4) tested too.

And.. can't you find a way to protect her from being chewed up by the other cat? He beats her up bad enough to leave sores? That just sounds like an awful way for her to live. That kind of stress can cause illness such as UTIs or kidney disease, just from that.

Please keep us posted on your beloved little girl.

Prayers that the vet can come to a specific diagnosis and it's easily treatable.

Back in the 1980's we had a cat who got bumps in the place you describe, and it turns out he had a flea rash, vet said it was an allergy. Strange as that sounds. We treated him for fleas and it disappeared completely.

How's Snickers, tinyflyer? We'd really like to know. We care. Please give us an update.

You and your kitty are in my prayers.
