So my precious foster, Chance, finally went to his forever home today!
Anne, his new Mom, was so excited and happy to take him home. She said her husband was so excited that he actually helped her vacuum.
She promised to keep me updated!

Well, you guys know me, how often does one actually get adopted without me taking another foster home?
We actually took 2.

Romeo is a SUPER handsome adult long haired grey tabby with white who absolutely lives up to his name. He is one of the most affectionate cats ever, and I have known quite a few!
He has an eye infection, so I'll be working on clearing that up, but he's already had a good brushing, which he LOVED, and he looks like a brand new cat. (Seeing as enough fur came off of him to make a sweater.) With his looks AND personality, he'll be adopted in no time.

Brulee (as in Creme Brulee) is an older male kitten (6-7 months old) who is a little feral and needs some real TLC. He's gorgeous, a shorthaired beige tabby.
He was in foster care with one of the shelter employees for the summer, but when he reached maturity she couldn't keep him with his sister, so he went back into the shelter. He was terrified there, so Lori, his previous foster Mom, convinced me to take him and work with him. I'm sure with a little love and patience he will blossom. He'll need a quiet home, but he'll have a great home here until the RIGHT person comes along for him.

I'm happy for Chance and appreciate people like you who foster.
It must be so difficult to let go. Please post pictures when your new ones after they get comfy.

Hooray for Chance going to his furever home today and the excitement and anticipation of his new family. Such a sweet adoption story for him!

Hooray also for Romeo and Brulee coming to your home for some TLC and nursing back to health. They'll do so well with you. Can't wait to see pics!

Thanks ladies!
I promise to post pics once they get a little more settled.

It IS difficult to let each one go. I do get attached to some more than others and Chance was one of those because he was just a great cat all the way around, and he was a foster here for months before getting adopted. I know he'll be so happy in his new home though.
Dana has a hard time with the fosters, and has very little contact with them because he gets REALLY attached. I noticed when we first started fostering that he seemed distant and not incredibly interested in the fosters, which I found funny because he ADORES our cats and showers them with attention. I called him on it and he said he can't handle getting attached and then letting them go, so he leaves that to me. Now that being said he is always right there to support me with all aspects of fostering, including helping if any need meds or special attention, he holds me and handles anything associated when a foster doesn't make it AND he supports the fact that helping these babies is what gives me meaning.

Kailie, you are an angel for fostering those kitties!

Before we got our two, that was something I thought about doing. However, as DH rightly pointed out, once kitties came into this house they would be leaving only when pried out of my/our cold dead hands .. so we adopted instead.

I'm so happy for Chance to be getting another chance, pun intended
Romeo and Brulee sound wonderful. I could never foster because I wouldn't be able to give them up if I fell in love with them.

You're doing a wonderful thing as many others do, you should pat yourself on the head for that.

I have more good news guys! Today we had a lady and her husband come to look at Macy's kittens. They were told about us by a couple who adopted one of our first foster kittens ever. They had a hard time deciding, but in the end, little Remus chose THEM! He was the only one who went right over to them and was loving the attention. He is the 2nd of Macy's kittens to be spoken for, so only 3 more to go.
