Ava

In May of 2008, I found an emaciated dilute-calico on our back patio. The next day I took her to a vet that I normally don't go to (local one was closed) and found out she weighed 3 lbs. That night, she was cuddling with me and purring away. The day after we ended up rushing her to an emergency vet, because she wasn't acting right. They tested her for leukemia, started her on IV fluids when the results came back negative, and we left her in their hands overnight. My mom called in the afternoon and the head vet said that Ava's glucose levels kept dropping and it looked like she had a blood infection. Treatment would have been too pricey and there was a strong likelihood that she wouldn't make it. I can still see the pained eyes glaring at me. That was what made me make a decision.

RIP my niesse

What a little beauty she is as well. That's tragic, but she knew what love was with you before she left
