Today, being a relatively warm sunny day, I took the cats out for a little while. THEY did not think it was all that warm and did not stay out long.

But the big news is, I decided to try Queen Eva on her String.

She did great, like she'd always been walking around with a long length of polyrope behind her. I took some video but that will have to be sorted. She showed no interest in getting out of the fence, or even looking up to see if she could jump over it .

(Queen Eva is not much for jumping, even before she hurt her back she didn't do high leaps, and now, even though she is not having any pain, she does not at all like to leap when playing.)

Coming out!

Pouncing on her own String

Much to explore...

And finally a short (youtube) clip of Queen Eva and the Crow
Watch her reaction when she first sees the crow, and then watch her back ripple and the hackle start, just a tiny bit, when it caws at her.

Oh, Queen Eva is SO cute!!
I love that crow video, she's not quite sure what to think, is she?
Pink is a lovely color on her too. Holland had a pink collar when I adopted her, and wore it until I decided I was anti-collar. There's just something about little black kitties & pink...

Thanks for looking everyone. I was just telling her yesterday to not be in such a hurry to grow up, as I was enjoying her baby stage so much....eating foam rubber not withstanding.

All the cats have those hot-pink harnesses, though the adult cats wear the figure 8 style. (I marked their initials on them so I know which is which) The one Queen Eva is wearing is supposed to be one size fits all, but if she grows much more she will need a figure 8 too.

Hot Pink is easy to see when we are in their yard.

When I first put it on her I had it pulled as small as I could and it was even then too large.

Now I have had to let it out twice. She IS growing up.

We went out again today. I put Queen Eva in her Castle to start, because I wanted to sit in the sun and read while the cats enjoyed the sunshine too.

Queen Eva was quite happy with this arrangement. After about an hour, she said she would like to come out and run around, so I let her out of the Castle. I did not hang on to her string today, but I never took my eyes off her, either.

After a few minutes more, Tolly and Jennie went inside, while Mazy stayed out a while longer to watch Queen Eva. Finally Mazy also went inside. I let Queen Eva run just a little while longer before I had her climb into her carrier and I brought her inside.

Another successful outing for Queen Eva!

I took more pics, I'll post them later, have to do some other things now, but watch here if you want to see more pics of this event

As promised a few pics from Queen Eva's second day out of her Castle in the yard.

Relaxing, for a nanosecond, on the rug

Mazy: What's it feel like to be Queen Eva?

Before she came out

Don't tell her I told you, but she fell off that box twice. She's getting too heavy to perch on top of it I think. Hehe, I pretended I didn't see.

Aw, thanks you guys. Queen Eva is all legs and paws and tail these days. She's such a teenager....but she's pretty low on the graph of havvok rekkin.

Well...as far as behavior I mean.

What with loosing two bleeding teeth, hurting her back and eating foam rubber, all in the past two weeks, I guess she has her own style of havvok rekkin after all.
