So far so good, I served Sasha a can and he ate...not the whole thing, but I think he likes the taste. It's a bit soupier (a good thing) and a bit higher in fat...though Mr Sasha could use a bit of fattening up!

Before I go for work I'll leave him with the rest of the can, some Medi Cal and a bit of Performatrin...give me an idea which one he likes best, if he eats a bit of each, so much the better, I want to make sure he eats!

Is Hi Tor a pate type food? My CRF cat will not touch pate type wet food. He only likes wet food that has chunks or shredded meat in it, but will not actually eat the meat. He just really likes the gravy. I read your post that Vita Gravy is actually made by the people that make Hi Tor. Is it also safe for CRF cats? Several months ago I thought about getting it, but had no idea if it was really good for him or not.

I hear that Vita Gravy is safe for CRF cats and is used for cats with it, to help them eat the crf prescription foods... it is actually very successful and have great reviews in a lot of sites.

Can't wait to get some... Sasha's eating but not the normal quantities a cat his age should eat. This morning I tried feeding him the left over 1/4 can of Hi Tor Neo with 1/4 cat of Medi cal and a bit of water...no go. He smelled the food and walked away.

I then cracked open a fresh can of Hi Tor and place the open can in front of him and he smelled it...licked his chops and began eating straight out of the can. Not the whole can, not even close to half...but he did make a dip on the top of the food.

To be frank, Sasha never did engulf a meal in one sitting; he was mostly a dry-food cat for the past 18 years, and he would eat his portion through the day.

So perhaps I'm being too worried over Sasha's "inappetance"? He always liked to eat at his own pace, and part of my concern is that Tiggy is a bottomless pit who sometimes steals Sasha's food!

That being said I'm still going to ask for a urine culture and have the Vet check Sasha out for bad teeth ... I got a supply of Pepcid AC should the Vet tell me Sasha needs it...I have a pill cutter for my own medicine, I can chop them pills myself!

Thanks! I went on-line again yesterday after reading this thread, but didn't learn anything new. Think I'll just get some and see what happens.

My only caution is check the ingredients... I used the old version with RB Kandie and her CRF but they have changed it some( different grain if memory serves)
