Great opportunity for Bridge-need vibes please

Hey guys, just wanted to request some vibes for a great opportunity that's come up for my big, lovable, huggable foster kitty, Bridge, this weekend. It's taken some coordination because of Bridge's FIV+ status, but I've got the okay to bring him to our local Petsmart Fri. evening and Sun. afternoon for an adoption fair the rescue is taking part in.

There's nothing in Petsmart's policy that prevents an FIV+ cat from being there. It's just that some folks don't know much about the disease and and incorrectly assume it's easily spread to other cats, so we had to be sure the other rescue group that that uses the space is okay with Bridge being there.

This is a great chance for people to meet Bridge and see what sweetheart he is. We also plan on having some information available about FIV in the hopes of educating people about the disease.

Please send major vibes that someone falls in love with Bridge this weekend. He really needs a lap to call his own.

Thats fantastic, I hope Bridge finds his furrever home and I think its fantastic that you are going to educate people on FIV. Years ago I captured a ferral cat, I was going to home him with us and the cats protection were helping me, they got him tested and he was positive for FIV, they euthanised him, I knew no better back then, since I have been on this site, it has opened my eyes and because of people like you I have learnt so much, thankyou.xx

Taking off work a little early this afternoon to have a very large, affectionate cat, along with copies of a couple of good handouts on FIV, at Petsmart by 5.

Thanks for the vibes, everybody!

Bridge did great at Petsmart last night. Because he's such a big boy, he was in a big cage front and center in the adoption area. He was so mellow and just laid there looking handsome and accepting attention. One young woman seemed particularly interested in him and even took an application. She's interested in a very affectionate adult cat and doesn't seem concerned about the FIV. Was planning to go home last night and think about things and expressed an interest in spending more time with Bridge. She has to work all weekend, so I encouraged her to at least put in the application. The rescue won't hold Bridge for her, but will give her first consideration. Meanwhile, we'll be back at Petsmart tomorrow afternoon for another round.

So far we haven't received her application, but she mention having to work on weekend and being really busy. Meanwhile, Bridge and I will be spending most of the afternoon at Petsmart. Please keep the vibes coming. Thanks!

Bridge did well at Petsmart this afternoon, showing off how handsome and affectionate he is. He just loved all the attention he was getting. Found out he likes kids a lot; dogs not so much. A very nice couple who'd recently lost their older cat took an app for Bridge. They seemed very taken with him, but are a little concerned about the FIV and plan to discuss with their vet. Hopefully, he/she is one who's knowledgeable and open-minded about it and gives them good information. We'll see what happens.

Adoptions overall were slow this weekend, for us and the other rescue that had cats there. It was a great opportunity, though, to educate folks about spay/neuter, FIV and cat care in general. That's always a plus!

The director of the rescue also mentioned another potential adopter for Bridge, but he's out of town until the end of the month. So, please keep the vibes coming. I'm hoping and praying the right home for Bridge is out there.
