But I also take a moment to think about those who lost their lives for freedom and this country.

Some workplaces have a brief 'event' of some sort

Like you, I do take a moment to think about those who have fought, will fight for our safety, freedom, our country.

My daughter is in cadets ( part of the Canadian armed forces) and she is in uniform today to escort a veteran to place a wreath at the memorial

I became the surrogate daughter to my dads oldest friend since childhood when my dad passed away. His name was Harry. He never married and had no family left except two elderly brothers in other states.

I have all his war diaries here and every piece of "V" mail he sent and had sent to him during WW2. I may take a cup of coffee and sit on the swing and look through these.

He was my old soldier and he died in 07.

My dad is also very much on my mind today. He was a WWII veteran, as well, having flown 65 missions as a radio operator in a B-26, based in England. He was very proud of his service.

He passed away in 2000. We're losing so many of our vets from WWII, and they all have amazing stories to tell.

He also kept diaries, which are quite fascinating to read.

Blessings to all vets everywhere.

I hope to be able to go to the Memorials and take pictures. I would also love to be able to go to the Museum of the Marines.
One of the proudest things in my Daddy's life was that he served on a minesweeper in the Navy during WWII. Tomorrow would have been his 85th birthday.

I have the utmost respect for any of our volunteer service people, over any period in our history. Those that serve do not question, they simply drive ahead.
Our company is approved to mfg products for the D.O.D. and I was given the assignment of getting this approval. Afterward, I was congratulated.
I simply asked those involved in producing this product, to think about the friends, relatives and so on, that will rely on our parts to perform correctly, ensure reliability and help see their safe return home.
I think about this every day that I see this product in our plant, especially today.

I work in a municipal complex with cenotaph out front so I went out to the memorial service this morning. We also observe a moment of silence in the office for those who can't go out.

My grandpa proudly served in both the Canadian and US forces, and even though he made it back from all of his wars, I take a moment to think of him on Remembrance Day.
