I remembered this morning and this question has something to do with what just happened...

How often do you use your microwave? If your microwave suddenly stopped working, what would you do?

We rely heavily on our microwave. I have microwavable breakfasts, and use it to reheat foods.... a lot! Well, my microwave just stopped this morning! My food was hot enough to eat, but for all intents and purposes, it is dead. We cannot afford a new one right now as we are saving for a trip to see DH's parents. I guess I will have to to the old fashioned way of cooking!

We use our microwave every day. Not just to heat foods or water up, but I actually cook in ours. I have several microwave cookbooks and I can do anything from simple appetizers to bbq ribs to chicken to some desserts. It's wonderful when days are really busy....for example, baking squash in the oven takes 45-50 minutes; doing it in the microwave takes 12 minutes and that includes standing time. When our old microwave died, I think it took us about a day to get a new one. I'd be lost without it.

We use the microwave several times a day.
I don't think my 19 year old would survive without it.

I only use my microwave to heat up Autumn's canned food if it's the half that was in the fridge. I also use it to bake potatoes and for frozen dinners. That's about it.

I had a large microwave when I moved into this newer mobile home but it already had a beautiful microwave built right above the stove so I gave my old one away, it's digital in every way as is the stove. Anyway if it did stop working, I would have to leave Autumn's food out till it warmed up if coming from the fridge. I would call the manager's office to fix it or replace the microwave, that's one advantage of renting

not much at all just to reheat teas
We use our toaster oven ALOT

If either stopped we would get a replacement within a few weeks but probably the most basic one made

We use ours on occasion, most just to warm up leftovers, etc. The majority of our food is cooked from scratch and and most everything can be cooked on the stove. There can be long periods that we don't ever use the microwave. I'm sure we would miss it at certain times, but it wouldn't be a gigantic loss in our lives.

We don't use it much - mainly to warm up things or partially thaw meats (like hamburger before cooking it on the stove).

If it stopped working or disappeared, we really don't care. We cook our meals on the stove the old fashion way - taste a lot better!

I use mine at least a few times a week. It's older than I am (I'm 18), so I wouldn't be too heartbroken if it threw in the towel and refused to work anymore. It would just mean that my parents would finally be forced to buy a new one!

We use it to heat water and "protect" recently prepared meals in if we have to get up for any reason (phone, bathroom, take a dog out, etc.) because if not the gremlin kitty will eat all the food. If the microwave was no longer working it would be OK. But we probably would get a new one when we could.

There's no place like home
I use mine daily, but remember the time when my last one broke and I didn't make it out to a store to buy another for nearly 2 weeks. I was surprised how easily I adapted to cooking "the old fashioned way" with my stove. And I've been using microwave ovens since about 1973.

I use my microwave once or twice a week if I have left over food.

I moved into a temporary apartment for a couple months this summer and didn't have a microwave for two months, didn't bother me too much. Except for the couple of times I wanted to have a quick bowl of canned soup. A reheat my coffee.

A few years ago we got a Half-Time Oven. It's a convection and microwave in one and I LOVE it! I use the microwave mainly to reheat or defrost stuff. The convection part I use all the time. It's great for pizza's, cookies, cakes etc. The greatest part is I don't have to heat up the big oven for just the 2 of us. The big oven rarely gets used anymore.

What would I do if my half time oven broke. I don't even want to think about it! LOL I'd probably go and see if there was any warranty left and hopefully get it fixed or replace it with other oven like it.

I use mine every day. I thought I was going to have to replace it last year because the turn table stopped working.

At the time I thought that I would wait for it to die completely. So far is it still working. Just not turning properly. I would be lost without it.

In the days before I had a microwave I used my toaster oven.

You can get a small basic microwave for way cheap. . .$40 or so.

I use mine every day. If it broke I'd run right down to Wal-Mart and get a new one!

Here... or There... Hmmm
We use the microwave probably 3-6 times a week, depending on the season... If we have frozen mean that needs dethawed, and DH likes to make his bacon in the microwave, and at christmas it's how I melt my chocolate.. SOOO much easier! If it stopped working, DH already has two others we could use... He's so prepared for EVERYTHING... even when like 3-4 weeks ago when our water pump just up and died, he had a exact match sitting in the basement already that he just had to change one part and we were good to go again in just hours instead of weeks, and LOTS of money! I loves him sometimes!
Ok, got off subject a little!

I use my microwave atleast once a day......In the morning to heat my cup of water for my morning tea and probably 2-3 times more each day unless I am working crazy hours during season, as I am now
