November 10, 1775 is the traditional date for the founding of the Marines and they have taken part in every conflict from the Revolutionary War to Iraq and Afghanistan. The Marine Corps, for its 235th birthday, is placing special emphasis on those who served during the Korean War. I'm an Army vet and have nothing but respect and admiration for the Corps. Happy Birthday Devil Dogs!

And many thanks to all Marines, including my hubby (2nd Marine Division; veteran of the Persian Gulf War, first into the breach during the ground war.) Also, thank you to ALL branches of the armed forces. We can can sleep well at night, without a gun beside our pillows, because of you...thank you so much.

I live almost right outside the gates of Camp LeJeune, and am proud to drive many of them in my Cab. They are a breed apart. Not only do they serve their country proudly, but do it with grace and style. The parade grounds filled with these proud young men and women is a stirring sight.
Semper Fidelis!
