I've been searching the net for cat health information and stumbled across this forum in the process!
I'm an 18 year old residing in SE Michigan. I am going to a community college to obtain an Associates in Science and then transferring to further my education to someday work with animals as a career. During my junior year of high school I became a certified vet assistant and had work-experience in a vet clinic. Best experience of my life. I love animal photography, fishkeeping, reading, and playing in photoshop.
Oh wait, this is a forum for cats, right? I should probably be talking about them...
Currently, my family and I have the glorious opportunity to have our presences graced by 7 felines. From oldest to youngest: Russell, Angelo, Sunny, Tucker, Lola, Cecil, and Aiyana. Russell is the grandson to my own grandmother's ancient flamepoint female "Sweetie", as I dubbed her. Angelo was found at our campsite as a kitten and brought home because he was "angelic". Sunny was given to my mom by my cousin as a kitten. Tucker and Lola are siblings that were born to a sweet barn cat. Their tortie sibling was killed by a tomcat. Cecil came from a property where multiple cats had been dropped off and were proving how prolific cats can be. He was 5 weeks old, emaciated, and had a severe URI. (Info was given to the property owners to get them all spayed/neutered and treated for free, but I don't know if they called.) Lastly, Aiyana the beastly kitten. My mom called me one morning and told me there was a skinny kitten at a gas station. Took me half an hour to catch her. Emaciated and URI. (Aiy has a twitter! xD twitter.com/itzAiyana) A couple months ago we did have 8 total, but the 8th kitty was a foster kitten named Molly who was adopted weeks ago.
Other than my rambunctious group of cats, I have an elderly Lab mix named Sandy. I've had her since she was 4 and she's now 13. She's become brattier with age, but I still love her to pieces. I also have a gerbil named Wilson. His companion, Hector, unfortunately passed away a week ago.
I usually have fish, but alas, my last Betta died a couple months ago. Now I just have a little under 200 gallons worth of tanks and no fish! Boooo. (We have Shubunkins/Comets/Goldfish, but those are my father's.)
To wrap things up, that's it! LOL
