Hi there everyone! So somehow Sookie got locked in my bedroom while I was at work and managed to poop and pee in there while I was gone. I had a little bit of Nature's Miracle Dual Action Orange-Oxy Power Spray Stuff. It definitely helped with the odor, but she seems to still be sniffing the areas that she used. Anyways, I was wondering what you all use for accidents. I have carpet throughout my condo and there are some older stains anyways from when I first moved in with my older cat, Max. Thanks in advance for suggestions!

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

THIS is what works for me - first I pour on the white vinegar, and clean the area, then I pour on alcohol, let it set a second or two, then sop it up.
Carpeting:
With carpeting, I do the same thing - only I don't rub the area - I blot it so I don't damage the fibers.
I do have expensive carpets, so I'm really careful when I do the blotting.
After I blot up the alcohol, I put a white paper town over the wet area and put something on top of it to hold it in place -AND- so it won't get walked on while it's wet.
I keep a "Cat Kit" ready with the white vinegar, the alcohol, paper towels, and shop cloths for those pesky emergencies like hair balls, and urine issues.
This really works for me, honest.
It sounds simple, maybe too simple - but the white vinegar (not apple cider!!!) and alcohol are things I already have in the house. I love the warehouse store - SAMS - I buy bulk white vinegar and bulk alcohol.

sometimes you may have to re-apply cleaner and keep blotting several times to remove the odor. The urine had a chance to soak down thru the carpeting, and may take several applications of the cleaner to remove it.

I only use Nature's Miracle, but I use several applications of it. Never had a repeat urine issue in any places, and the stuff works great for getting out puke stains. Can't speak to the effectiveness for pooing issues, though.

You need a cleaner designed to attack organic residue. Petsmart carries various products that will penetrate and break down the stain as it will seep deep into the foam if there is no barrier (on cheap stuff there typically is not).
