My cat is a friendly, happy go lucky indoor cat, who loves to sit in the window and watch the birds. Recently another neighbourhood cat has started coming by and taunting her. They get into huge screeching matches, my cat on one side of the screen and the other cat outside. It's horrible, my cat is screeching, howling, spitting, hissing and snorting and peeing on the floor. I've never seen anything like it. She can't stop and it takes her at least an hour to calm down after we shoo the other cat away. She even attacked my leg one night earlier this week while I was trying to get the other cat away. Big mistake on my part - I now know to stay away.

It's becoming more often and has now happened every day this week. We have closed the blinds, but she can still widdle her way in between the blinds and the window. She's obsessed, every little movement outside, she thinks it's this cat coming back. All she wants to do is sit in the window and watch for that cat.

I said to my husband this morning we are going to have to get bristle board or something to cover up the windows at ground level in the back so she can't see out...which seems ridiculous but I don't know what else to do. Has anyone had this problem and what can I do?

I currently have that problem, and have covered the lower half of my sliding doors and one of my windows. I feel so bad for my cats because they enjoy looking outside and are indoors-only.

Both my cats and the neighbor cat were throwing themselves at the windows, and one of mine tore part of one of her claws out. I don't know what else to do either. I wish mine could look out the window in peace.

I feel sorry for my neighbor's cat, as my neighbor is extremely irresponsible and the cat is being cared for by other, kind-hearted neighbors.

One thing I'd like to try is "solar curtains." They're a really thin piece of metallic fabric... kind of like a balloon. One side is reflective, but you can see through the other side. I'm wondering if I tape these curtain things to my windows with the reflective side facing out, if the neighbor cat will stop launching herself at my guys.
