Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
This is the first part of a 2 part thread....the second half will be in the Fur Pictures section...

Update on the newbies...they are doing really well. We are hoping to teach orange how to jump up the gate and into the cat room. For now though we will lift the bottom part big enough for her to slip under but small enough that Franklin cant fit too...Shes doing really well though, eating good using the litter box. She slept ALL NIGHT long on top of BFs head purring away like a motor boat...She does adore her new daddy...No name still...We are having issues over what to name her. Nova is out because BF vetoed that and said it wasnt a girls name. Bacon is out too even though I think its cute and funny but 3 out of 4 adults said I was a moron for thinking that was an ok name....So I do need name help..Feel free to toss suggestions out at me. I will post one picture of each kitten at the end of this thread. The rest of the millions of pictures I will start a new thread for.

Onwards to black kitten. She is a rammy little girl, into everything if you let her. The 2 shallow litter boxes that I set up are play toys as far as shes concerned so after she eats I will place her in one and scratch her feetsies like the big kitties do but then she thinks its a game and just starts scratching like crazy all over the box and runs and plays. She plays with the jingle balls and crinkle balls and Im keeping her away from catnip toys for a while yet. She is eating really well and drinking like a champ. BF says shes so ugly shes cute....Her chest and feet are white and her face is black and orange. I adore her nose its all black I have to give it smoochies whenever she lets me. Her claws get stc8886y; (that was from her walking along the keyboard flopping over and then rolling around..Silly kitty) anyways...her claws get stuck on everything...Is it too early to trim them or is it a good time to start I dont want the new cats to be like monster butt GiGi who FREAKS out at the sight of clippers knowing whats gonna happen...Atleast Hercules takes it like a champ. Black kitties eyes are still blue yet...Im hoping they stay blue or change to green hopefully but Im sure they will be like the other 3...that golden color.

Atleast all in all they are all doing good. Hercules is in love with black kitten and comes into the room to play with her like a little kitten its so adorable...Gigi is still a little standoffish but I gave her Herc and orange kitty a piece of turkey together and they all sat on the counter to eat...Orange kitty growls though when shes eating...She will figure out though soon enough that there arent going to be a bunch of other kitties fighting over a food bowl....there are 3 bowls here and I will get another one so there is one for each kitty....

Ok heres a pic of each....and then off I go to post in the Fur Pictures thread....dont forget those name suggestions...Oh and one more thing....once I get the non clumping litter..how do I keep black kitty from eating the litter or is that just something kittens do when they are learning to use a box??

Orange kitty with her new daddy....it was love at first sight!!!

Close up of black kitties face. It was the best one that I got she is not a very cooperative kitten when she is feeling rammy.

Oh, lord, but those little kids are cute! I rather like Nova for the orange girl. Or how about Marmalade? Not sure about the little black boy. He's a sweetie, too!

I think it's a thing with kittens to eat litter. All our kids did it when they were little. Heck, they even napped in the litter box.
They'll get it right eventually.

Soooo freakin' precious!!
Of course I like the name Nova, seeing as I have a Nova.
Dana named Nova though, back when he thought HE was a SHE.

Haha...I liked Nova too because BF just painted an orange one and it got white stripes...But when I brought it up to BF and he tested it out on her she looked at him like "WTH you want to name me after a car...do I look like a boy" She just didnt seem to go for it. BF like people names...he named Franklin...I like cutsie names like Hercules (after the Disney movie) and Gidget after that blonde ditsy actress....I said about naming them Bacon and Tomato or Bacon and Mayonaise but immediatly I was disowned of any and all present or future animal naming. LOL it was 3 against 1.

I just dont know what to name them. Orange definately needs a bossy type of name, I have a feeling she and GiGi will be vying over Alpha status. Since Fatman passed GiGi took over as Alpha, Hercules has no interest in being Alpha just dont try and steal his blanket and all is well with him. Orange seems to have a big bad kitty tude. Black is sassy and playful, very rammy and lovey...Both actually are lovey dovey kitties they are so content to sit and be petted.

Oh they're adorable!

And HOW SWEET that no-name-orange slept on BF's head purring!

And as to your question about the litter - that's why it's suggested to use clay litter for the little baby. It's normal for them to play with it and eat it.
If his eyes are still blue, he may still need stimulation to help him go to the bathroom. How old is he? WHAT a little doll!!!!

She is 5 weeks old.she does go potty by herself. She is sooooo rammy. She climbs up my legs flops on her belly for rubs gives me kisses she is a sweetie pie. Orange kitty is sleeping in the cat room with her now. I have clay litter its the clumping kind though and I am phobic about letting her have a shallow little dish in her carrier. I am so scared she will eat it and it will block her up cuz its clumping kind. She goggbles up her wet food. I'm going to wet down a couple pieces of the totw and get them nice and soggy for her to try. I'm assuming since its all stages food it will be ok for her. If not someone tell me so I can get her kitten food.

You really ought to get her (sorry!) non-clumping clay litter if she's eating it.

Flowerbelle, at 7 years old, still sometimes runs into the litter box and has a freakout, doing 180s, digging and leaping out and running around like a nut.
Thankfully, she never ate it.

Omg you guys toss on the party hats and do the happy dance......black kitty went in the litter box all on her own. She pooped!! I'm so happy I lavished her with good kitties and some internal woo hoos. I let her out and about and left the room to change water dishes and make her up some food and when I came in she was pooping her little heart out. Funny thing tho....she's a double foot scratcher.....like the dog...haha I've never seen a cat or kitten ever double foot scratch like a dog only the one dainty dig to china paw scratching.....omg I'm such a proud meowmy. Tonight for dinner...a couple pieces of totw mixed in with her wet food.

Does anyone have a potential timeline for me to have her fully over to dry. I can't do wet food because it messes with gigi and hercules poop something fierce so we are a dry only house with moist treats.
