I have two cats and three dogs. Two dogs are dachshunds, the other dog is a good dog
.

One dachshund is 14 years old, half deaf, can't scale a baby gate, is allergic to corn and likes to snack from the litterbox.

The other dachshund is actually a dachshund/minpin mix. He is young, smart, agile, about the width of a cat and can scale a baby gate in three seconds and likes to snack from the litterbox

I had the cats on the special kitty brand scoopable litter, and it kept making the dachshunds sick (I scooped all the time, those dogs are quick). So I decided they needed all natural litter. I used chicken feed (pretty much the same as "the worlds best cat litter) for a while, I loved it, then it occurred to me that my old dachshund was reacting from the corn in it. I don't like the wood based litters, and the regular clay just doesn't work well.

The baby gate only works for the old dog, and I hate it.

Then it occurred to me today. The cat litter lives on the lowest shelf of the set of shelves by my door. My cats are young and agile. So I moved it up a shelf.

Stuff like that happens to me all the time.

On another note, I got an email saying that Target is now selling World's Best Cat Litter. Did you like it when you used it?

Good idea! Hey we can't think of everything all at once. And you DID think of it now, so all is well.

I have doxies too...a mini and a standard.I solved my problem with that by changing my litter pans to storage tubs.I get them at WalMart for about $5 and cut a hole in the top lid, leaving part of it solid. They can't get to it at all,and the cats haven't minded the change at all.

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
I have a mini....too bad for him all the kitties are or will be bigger than him so he gets his butt bossed around. I just brought a litter box for gigi out to the living room since the cat room is occupied by the new tiny baby and the bigger baby doesn't like to be out and about all day. She is still getting used to the new additions. I even rearranged part of my counter for a food station.....I smacked myself in the forehead when I realized duhhhhh food is high enough puppy can't get it and he isn't huge on kitty poop if anything he would probably try and use the litter box himself.
