...I lost my wonderful Grandfather, Cecil, to lung cancer.
We all called him Pop. We have such an incredible bond. I was HIS girl, his first grandchild and everything to him. His love was so unconditional, and I could always talk to him. He taught me how to play numerous different card games and I would always stay over at his place where he would spoil me ROTTEN with treats.
Pop never had much, but everything he DID have he would gladly share with his family. He would do anything for his family. My Nan and Pop divorced when I was just a baby, but he never stopped loving her. She was with him when he passed in the hospital. Her current husband, Don, was very understanding.
Cancer is such a horrid disease! I watched my Pop, a big, strapping bear of a man fade away into nothing more than a skeleton. I was only 18 when he passed but I can't even begin to tell you all how much I still miss him to this day. I wish he could see me now, and see all I have accomplished. I wish that he could have met Dana. He would have LOVED Dana... I wish I could hug him just one more time.
I love you Pop...
