Hello everyone,

I own two cats, Psycho and Yoda. They are 8 and 3 months respectively. I bought Psycho 6 months back from a pet store but he was in a very poor condition due to malnutrition. However, he is a happy and healthy cat now. I got Yoda, my second cat, from a lady when he was 6 weeks old. He adjusted to my home very quickly. However, I was a bit late in deworming him so he developed a stomach infection. I took him to a vet who started him antibiotics right away. Now Yoda is dewormed and awaiting his second inoculation. But he doesn't eat as much as he should and can be very stubborn at times. The vet thinks he is just being picky about his food but I am giving his favourite meals to entice him into eating more. He eats about 3 meals per day and is pretty lean. Both my cats are part Siamese and part Persian. Psycho used to eat bat 5 times a day when he was Yoda's age.
The vet continues to tell me that there is nothing wrong with Yoda and is just being difficult but I am worried. I have to keep running after him all day so he eats something. Am I missing something?

Welcome to TheCatSite,

You did a great job bringing Psycho to health.

Your vet seems quite sure that Yoda is OK but I tend to trust member's gut feelings about their cats health.
For peace of mind, a second opinion might be an option or...
if you feel you can safely wait, keep a close eye on Yoda's weight, coat health and behavior.
If you notice weight loss or any other negative changes such as dull coat or lethargy...
report that to your vet immediately and get in for a re-check.

Hopefully other members will have some more feedback for you.

Please keep us updated...
make yourself at home.

Worms often need 2 to 3 times of deworming to be fully taken care of in kittens... Did your vet do a fecal check? Parasite check( for things other than worms? )? Eating alot may just be a growth spurt or it could be worms still there or something else ...

I second the second opinion....
