Completely different behavoir?

I took the kittens to get their picture taken with "Santa" today. Normal they are seperated after awhile because all they do is "play" with each other very roughly. They attach themselves at each others throats and just roll around the house. They aren't fighting other wise they'd be hissing and growling. This is what they do every time they are together.

Knowing this, we thought we'd have a hard time with their Christmas pictures. But once "Santa" took them from us, they sat side by side on his lap, and actually posed for their pictures. They didn't try to play with each other once. That is the first time since they've been with us that they sat perfectly still side by side. I swear Luna even posed for the pictures!

So if they can sit side by side on "Santa" why do they play so rough at home none stop, that we have to seperate them in fear 1 is going to get hurt?

Don't worry about them getting hurt. . .that's just how kittens play. They learn very important cat lessons from that kind of playing. No reason to separate them.

It's kind of amazing they consented to sit on Santa anyway. All the cats I know would have totally freaked out about being held by a stranger, in a costume at that! It would never occur to me to take kitties out for photos. Glad to hear they behaved! I'm sure they were just curious about their surroundings, no time for wrestling when there are other things to look at and sniff.

Not only did they behave, Luna was posing for the camera! Maybe because their kittens, and still curious enough to put up with "santa" holding them and strangers all around them.
