Wondering if anyone else has seen this before?
Last night our new kitten who we think is 5 months old had this clear odorless mucus just dribbling out of his bum. He was eating and drinking fine, playing like a little hellion (which was fun running after him trying to clean up the mucus piles he was leaving everywhere). He had pooped previous to that and his poops are still a bit soft due to us changing his food from the shelter stuff.
I called the vet to make an appointment and the earliest they could get us in for a normal appointment was Tuesday. The mucus had stopped by this morning and he still chowed down on his food and was running around like crazy, however I didn't see any of his poop in the litter boxes this morning. The vet tech did say that if the mucus started up again or if he hadn't pooped by the time I got home from work as he normally would to give them a call back and they could try to fit us in earlier.
Has anyone else encountered this? It had no smell to it at all and was like thick water. He had been on antibiotics for a URI that he had in the shelter but he has been off of those for a few days now.
I am hoping to see a poop in the litter box when I get home (his are easy to spot since he insists on pooping right up against the sides of the box). Since there are usually at least 2 poops by the time I get home from work, if I see none I will be calling the vet tonight to see what they say.
