How was this diagnosed ? I do not have personal experience of this (fortunately) but do know two people who have.

They both took the surgical route because their vets told them the kitties would have a shorter lifespan with the shunt even on a special diet.
Surgery is very very expensive and very risky though. One of the cats died and one of them survived and has been thriving for several years now.

I wish you the best of luck with your kitty, i'll keep my fingers crossed it isn't a shunt or some other grave condition.

At moment all thats been done was a vet visit yesterday for a lethargic kitten especially after eating(fluids given) normal blood sugar.

at that time was told go home with ad(?) and get temp up(was very low) In night started to get worse in one spot and just out. The er vet did amonia test and came up high end of normal(95) felv fiv neg, normal blood sugar a antibiotic shot and clavamox to take home

Seems to be ok on the two meals so far of kidney diet regaining strength,

Surgery has been ruled out-cost alone. She is very small also-didnt gro much since time I got her. Waiting to hear back from my one vet today and updated my other vet(one used for when my first choice is backed up/minor things as closer)
