Bloody fur, bump after blood drawn?

Is it normal for your cat to have bloody fur and abit of bump around his neck/under his mouth? He has white fur there so it may stand out. I have to go back in 2hours since they canceled the cleaning from high liver count for another blood drawn for this liver function test.

Well, hmmm! I don't know that I've ever seen either on my cats after bloodwork or procedures. I would imagine that as long as the sight isn't bleeding it would be okay. Sounds like they didn't apply pressure long enough.

When the needle was being pulled out if even a drop of blood got under that could cause the bump. As long as its just a bit and not actively bleeding should be fine-do let them know. Cat may have wiggled free towards end

I've had that happen when I have blood drawn. Not everyone taking blood has equal skills. Some can do it with minimal pain and leave no swelling or a bruising after. Others, well...
Needle size and your cat's hydration (for blood volume) can play a part, too. It's also possible that tiny bit of debris got pushed into the site and that is causing a bump. I've had that happen with one cat that had blood drawn for FIV/FeLv test and another after a vaccination.

I didn't catch any past threads mention liver issues? Do you and the vet have a cause behind this? I hope that goes down. Your kitty's blood work is a prime example of why pre-anesthesia blood work is so important (I hope you tell people about this is future threads )

That his liver numbers get better and that the bump goes away soon. Do keep an eye on it, though.
