Hi everyone!

So I've been feeding my dog Taste of the Wild for the longest time with great results so I decided to get the feline version. However, it seems like it makes my cats' poop and urine smell awful! Does anyone else have this issue? I love the ingredients in this food, but I may have to switch to something else after I'm done with this bag. I actually prefer Wellness Core but it's so dang expensive!

I haven't noticed it making any of mine exceptionally stinky.
The stinkiest cat in my house is the one on Hill's C/D - no helping that.

How long have you been feeding it? Are you just using TOTW exclusively or any wet, too? Did you take a while to transition to it or did you do a quick switch?

But it's possible that it doesn't settle well for your kitty. I have one that can't have some of the ingredients in it and will get diarrhea if he can steal a few mouthfuls from someone else. I have another that can't keep it down.
(but then, she's done that with a couple other foods too)

What did you switch from? How long did you convert from old to new? How old is the cat?

In many cases grain free foods are too rich for some cats and they can get smelly and losse stools but urine should not change smells .. The urine smell would have me at the vets

I've been feeding it to my cat for nearly 2 weeks. I'm a strong advocate for dry food. I did a transition of about four days. So I guess that could be the reason, but my cat would eat around the old food and just eat the ToTW because he HATES his old food. I usually can't keep to feeding it to him for more than 2 weeks because of the terrible smell. And it seems like whenever I stop feeding it to him the smell of both the fecal matter and urine stop. I guess I'll wait it out and see if it stops.

So you feed no wet at all? That alone will make urine smell stronger. TOTW does have some veggie/fruit matter in it that could be contributing to the smell, though.
