Emmy's home sweet home

Thread Starter
she was carried up to my apartment by her "previous" mamma and taken to the bedroom. As soon as she was let out of the carrier she dashed up under the bed. I knew that would probably happen--that's OK.She needs to feel she has a safe place, right? Her ex-mamma didn't want to stay because she wasn't feeling well (she's 7 months pregnant) so I gave her the card and flowers and vowed to take care of Emmy fur-ever and ever.
I went and laid on the bed and started talking to Emmy who was still hiding under it. I told her i loved her and I would never leave her. After about 10 minutes of quiet--she crawled out, looked up at me for a minute--then jumped up on the foot of the bed! I was very still and waited for her to make the first move. She slowly and shyly crept up closer to my head and just sat there looking at me. I said "Emmy, welcome home" and she started to purr.
I dozed off for a little while when I woke up and she was still looking at me.
It is so comforting to have a feline in the house again. She's sleeping on the bed now so I thought I'd jot a couple lines to you guys. She is precious and except for being chubby and sweet--she doesn't remind me at all of Bella--which I'm sure makes Bella very pleased

What a sweet ending to your journey through the grief to find a special girl again.

So happy for you and your Emmy.

It's so great that Emmy is home, Cheryl. I'm sure Bella is watching you and has guided Emmy to you. That was a quick response! Though, with Ginga as soon as she was out of her carrier, she jumped up on me I don't exactly remember what happened with Jazzy but she is pretty skittish so I think she ran under the bed as well I am so glad she's home with her new meowmy! Don't forget, we need photos of her at your place!

Jackz, Jazzy & Ginga.

Bella knew what she was doing when she brought you two together, didn't she?

Thank you ALL for your kind thoughts!! I've now been granted permission to scratch her head and chin!! She doesn't want to leave the bedroom yet and she had a pee-pee accident on the carpet. Poor thing. Her first trip out in 7 years and she ends up in a strange place. I'll give her as much time as she needs. There will be pics coming soon.

I don't know if I missed another post or what, but am so glad you didn't have to wait the whole week to get her! I'm so excited for both of you, and it sounds like she's settling in nicely, even though she had a little accident. Can't wait for pictures.

What a beautiful story. Falling asleep on the bed with her was exactly the right thing to do. It showed Emmy that you are safe and to be trusted.

Congratulations to both of you. I wish you many happy years of bliss together. Well done Bella!

(and all paws crossed you never hear from the "other lady" again)

Like some other posters said, this seriously made me tear up.
I'm so happy for you, Cheryl! Emmy is a very lucky young lady, and I'm sure that somewhere Bella is nodding her beautiful head in approval.
Best of luck to you and your new fur-baby.
