She's gone weak in her hindquarters somehow. Doesn't want to stand up. No apparent pain. Started last night. Taking her in right now.
that's she's just scaring the heck out of you and it's nothing critical.

Thank you so much, All!

My gosh I felt sick I was so worried. It seems she has bruised her back, vet thinks she must have fallen on it. She has a very tender area right at the middle of her spine. No swelling vet could find, but Queen Eva winced quite a bit when pressure was put on that area.

I'm to encourage her to rest, and I have pain medication for her if I think she needs it.

Vet wondered if one of the other cats could have bitten her and I didn't think it likely but I am to watch for any swelling that would indicate an abscess forming.

Probably I could have waited a few more days and she would have been okay, but I am not one to wait and see on something if I don't know what it is. I feel much better having had her seen by the vet.

She's so clumsy I am not surprised really that this has happened. I've set up a litter box for her in the bathroom so she doesn't have to do the stairs, for tonight and tomorrow at least. Much to Mazy's dismay, heehee.

Incidentally her adult teeth are coming in so vet thinks she is older than originally thought. She's placed her at five months instead of 4 1/2 months now. She's still tiny though, only weighs 4.6 pounds.

Thanks for your vibes and concern, it means a lot.

Thank God it is something that she will get over with your TLC. She is so precious!! I know how you feel about Not procrastinating when it comes to your cats' health!!! She is very lucky to have you in her life!!!

We went out and voted and I rushed back here to see if there was any news. Thank goodness it IS nothing serious (it seems). You don't think she fell from the 2nd story, do you? I think you said you were worried about that possibly happening when I posted about Stinkpot jumping off the bannister. If she'd been bitten, the Vet would've been able to see that, wouldn't they?

Anyway, keep us posted on her recovery. We'll be anxious about her!

I want to say "what a relief" - but that doesn't sound right! I think you know what I mean though....

Continued for the Queen!

My first response when I read the first post was, "OH NO!", but I'm glad to see the vet seems it's just a bruise and she should recover completely. Keep us posted!

I'm glad it sounds like something she will recover from. Give her gentle hugs for me.

Glad Queen Eva is on the mend. They sure do scare us don't they?
That was quite a scare. Many vibes that she gets well and that you are able to keep her from moving around too much while she's healing!

How's she doing today?

Thank you so much everyone!

Queen Eva seemed to be feeling much better this morning, judging by her energy level! That's what I missed the night before and yesterday morning, and how I knew something was wrong, in addition to her flopping down so much.

She was so lively this morning that I did worry she would make things worse, but how do you tell a kitten to slow down? I left her curled up on her desk-bed and was gone all day so I hope she rested some. She is, tonight, still lying down more than normal, but I am just getting home. There will be no interactive Games again tonight, to encourage some more resting.

Instead of playing any Games last night, I got on the couch with my book early, and encouraged my live fur blanket to join me. Mazy, Tolly and Queen Eva obliged.

Jennie missed out because she was too busy counter surfing and by the time she made it over to the couch there was only one place left for her. She did not want to settle for the bottom of my legs (perhaps my calves are too bony haha) so she perched near by.

Live fur blanket

Jennie the pouter (I told her that's what she gets for counter surfing)

PS I fell asleep this way and woke myself up an hour or so later, from wall shaking snoring( I always do that when I fall asleep on my back on the couch, wake myself up from snoring I mean), and no one was left but Queen Eva.

Good thing you're not claustrophobic!!

I love my furbabies, but cannot stand it for long if they are lying on my lower legs.

I'm glad Eva seems to be feeling a bit better. Great news to hear!

And super cute 'live fur' blanket you've got there! Too bad Jenny was pouting.

I'm actually severely claustrophobic. But cats on top of me is one of my greatest pleasures, and I know THEY love it, so I am willing to suffer much discomfort to accommodate them.

Thanks Erica!

update:

We did not have Games again last night, and after playing around on her own a little, Queen Eva was content to curl up in bed with me. I had a bad night though, so I don't think anyone got much sleep, except possibly Mazy who never tries to sleep ON me at night.

This morning Queen Eva is at her normal activity level.

I took this shot last night, when she took time out of her busy evening to come and say hello to me

I notice she's got a little bit of Puff Cheek going in that picture, gives her an exotic look.

Glad she's doing better. She is such a cutie!

"Puff Cheek."

I'm so glad she's doing SO much better! (All better?) Hopefully she'll develop a little more grace as she grows!

Thanks. Yeah that puff cheeks look kills me. I don't think she likes me calling her that though.

Hooray!! Glad she's feeling well enough to be the greeting committee! It's so sweet to be welcomed home by a waiting kitty.

Oh, so glad she is feeling better - what a beautiful girl! And nothing better than a cat sleeping on your chest
