The vet is coming to the house tonight to see Rocky, who appears to be slowly losing control of his back legs. He still plays, runs, jumps, eats well and seems in very good spirits. He's not missing the litter box and doesn't act as if he's in any pain. There's no gastrointestinal problems and he's maintaining his weight (I weigh him weekly).

He had a full senior panel done in late September and everything looked good.

Rocky is 13; I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas or experience with this.

Thank you

Just like us, once cats hit their senior years, they can get into all types of issues; small strokes, dementia, organs beginning to wear down. Your vet is the best one to supply the answer as to what has happened. All i can do on my end is pray (and I will) that it is an easy fix.

The vet did a thorough exam and believes he's got a neurological problem. He has very slight weakness on his left side. She's not sure if he did have a stroke or has a tumor. We're going to talk about further testing. I'm trying not to freak out!

Many prayers for you all - but Rocky couldn't have a better family in his corner.

The vet gave him a steroid shot Monday night just to see if it helped, and it has made a slight difference: He stands longer before sitting down and seems to have a little more control in his legs. She gave me a three week steroid dosage to give him at home to gauge his reaction, and then we will determine where to go from there. Thank you all for your concern and well wishes!!!
