My COMPLETE Fail!

So I was taking home a cat that was up for adoption at the vet's i work at cus his sister was adopted and so I felt bad cus he was all alone. He was born at the vet's office's other location and has been there for 5 months (actually now almost 6)

Well all weekend I was complaining how I would be so heartbroken and jealous of whoever adopted him and my BF comes up from the basement and suddenly asks me "so am I getting the impression that you want to adopt Jacob?" and I am like "Don't ask me these kinds of questions!!!!!!" and of course can't stop a smile from spreading to my mouth. and he is like "to be honest, he won't be all that much work and when you and Emmy (my dog) go back up to MD, Rowan (my cat) won't have anyone to play with" (he was talking about my dog and Rowan playing) and then he said "This comes with ONE CONDITION, you are not allowed to bring home anymore animals not under any circumstances, you are not allowed to do anything nice for the animals at the vet again"

I am such a failure. I told him "didn't I tell you a long time ago that this is why I could never be a fosterer? cus I would end up hoarding all the animals"

Anyways, Jacob is now our new baby (apperantly he and his litter was named after Twilight characters)

I'll post pics at some point, my camera phone ones were so bad.. sigh.. I am happy, but I just don't know how people can seperate their hearts when they foster..

This AM I phoned where I work to tell them before someone else jumped at the chance to inquire about him (not that he was getting adopted anyways but still JUST in case ya know? lol) and the receptionist couldn't stop laughing and was like "I knew this would happen I knew It!" I was like "oh be quiet!" so yea..

It's kinda a coincidence I guess. We decided to adopt a black cat on Halloween, who is named after a Twilight character which has to do with halloween-type creatures such as vampires and werewolves. I am tempted to call him Warlock,, cus I don't care for Twilight or human names in animals unless they are for a certain unique reason, are unique names themselves or really do sound good for them.

yes it is! He is going to look handsome as an adult. He looks like a sleek mini panther now. He is almost my other cat's size, but she is a pretty small cat, probably because having a litter as a baby stunted her growth a bit, but I think he will grow to be only a little bit bigger than her as an adult.

Alrighty! meet Jacob the Warlock!! (sorry for the messy house I was a slob today and didn't feel like cleaning)

The shadow cat:

he is rather comical he has large ears that his small face hasn't grown into yet :P

Him and his new Leather safe cat collar:

Rowan, Jacob and I, It took a bit of wrangling to get them both to me, Rowan is getting fat so you can't pick her up wit one hand anymore :P and as soon as my BF took one pic, Rowan made a break for it, thankfully it turned out well:

Once he grows up and doesn't have the "Kitten-look" he will be even more good looking. LOL. Black matches everything I guess

Thanks I feel so bad no one wanted him for 6 mos. but he is never going to be deprived of a home again. He also has the sweetest disposition that shows even though he lived at a vet's his whole life he was well cared for and well socialized.

Yay! I've got a black kitty too, and she is very smart and does tricks! What they may lack in diversity, they make up in personality!

You didn't fail...you were blessed! Both of you, as a matter of fact.

I actually got 2 of them and a bunch of other stuff from a woman with a lot of extra cat stuff when I got my first cat Rowan a few months ago. I thought they were pretty and feminine for her :p

He is obviously a sweetie pie! You are lucky with both him and Rowan (who is beautiful!)
What a great BF you have! I also could never foster a kitty - I could never give a kitty away!!
Did you decide to change his name or keep Jacob? I've read the Twilight books (but not seen those movies) and Jacob is a werewolf - very handsome, though!

I is very rare that my BF is spontaneous and does unique thoughtful things out of the blue like that (not that he isn't a caring nice guy! I just am a poor explainer) but it was really nice of him to do that. Was one of the few times he understood my *hints*. he is a pretty straightforward person and doesn't understand hints haha

We decided to keep his name. it still kinda irks me, but we have been calling him that so long it has kinda stuck. I haven't seen the movies nor read the books (was gonna read them but then the movies came out and it was like turning into some crazy fanatical kinda stuff so I was like forget it :P) at least a werewolf is an "animal" he is named after. one of my favorite animals is the wolf anyhow

Yesterday I was trying to make the paper blinds uncrumpled, cus between my dog and the cats they were looking a mess and I was wearing my PJs and Jacob saw the drawstring and jumped up to get it and dug his claws into my leg, what fun a kitten is
