My angel, Hallie 1995-2010

My baby girl was put to sleep yesterday. She was diagnosed with CRF in February 2009. She got really bad recently and there was nothing else that could be done. She was so strong. She fought so hard and although she didn't like it, she laid while my dad and I gave her fluids.

She was my first kitty. I got her October 31, 1995. She was so playful and so loving. She lived a full life and loved every minute of it. She made us laugh with her antics. Her favorite foods were turkey, chicken, and butter. She would climb up on the counter to get to the butter. I miss her so much. I couldn't have asked for a better kitty, especially a better first kitty. She was loved so much by me and my family. She will truly be missed. Now she is with her biological brother.

I love you Hallie and I miss you so much. Thank you for enriching my life by adopting me. You were my princess and my angel. You loved me just as much as I loved you. You will never be forgotten. Until I see you again...

My wife and I just lost our Reggie this morning, so we feel the pain you are suffering through right now. You loved your kitty with all your heart and she returned the favor. May your sweet angel Hallie rest in peace.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so tough when our beloved furry friends pass, even when we know they've been ill after a long life of love and we've done all we could. , Hallie.

You wrote so beautifully about your Hallie. She was obviously a very special girl.

RIP sweet one. You have left part of your heart here with the people who love you and have taken part of theirs with you.

God bless.

Trust me when I say that I know how you feel. There is nothing you or anyone can do at this early stage to ease the pain - that is part of the process. You have to allow yourself to grieve in hopes that the pain will ease and you can think about the happy memories and smile.

I've said this in my other thread (I think), but I think if Reggie could have said words to us when he was ill, he would have told us to live our lives to the fullest and embrace each day. I am trying my best to use his life, rather than his death, as an inspiration for how I should continue to live my life. I know we still have to grieve for his loss because that is going to help us heal, but we can also choose to embrace each day and not let that time get away from us.

It's difficult, I am not going to lie. Our Reggie only passed away three days ago, but the more you talk to people and share your feelings, the less pain you will feel. You just have to find people who can empathize, because you will know that you are not alone in how you feel.

In time, I know you will remember lots of good moments. For now, hugs. I know it hurts.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your Hallie. And your first cat! I lost my first cat more than 40 years ago, and I still think of him. He was my feline teddy bear as a child, and I really needed him. He has never left my heart.

You did the best you could for her, and she knows that. It is very painful to lose such an old and dear friend. The grief is very, very painful.

It time it will get better. And you will remember with joy all the good years you had together.

Since she was your "first" cat, as you put it, I assume she led you to others? So, she led you to a life with felines?

She was very special.

I'm so sorry.

Blueyedgirl - thanks a lot! I sure needs the hugs!!

Robin - shortly after I got Hallie I got her brother Boy. His real name was Pumpkin, but for some reason we called him Boy. He passed away about 5 years ago. I miss him a lot too. Yes, Hallie led us to Callie and Baby. I was suppose to keep for Callie and Baby for a few weeks until a friend of mine got an apartment. Well, you don't leave kitties with me. I fall for them and I fall hard. I wasn't going to give them up. They are biological sisters and are the sweetest girls. Thank you for the kind words. I know I never will forget my babies. I lost my puppy that I had as a child 15 years ago and I still miss him like it was yesterday.
