I have just acquired one, and I'm not sure if I want to keep it, try to exchange it (I won it at work, so it was never really "bought" anywhere), or what.

What do you use yours for?

We have one and we love it. We only use it for games, though. My husband and I use the Wii Play game the most, and really only bowling. I've recently had a 300 game!
My son plays a lot more games on it. We like Mario Party and the other Mario games. We have never bought the Wii Fit or anything, but my brother in law has and he likes that program.

We use it to have game nights....we have games like Family Game Night, Price is Right, and other multi player "game show" type games. We also can use it for our instant watch netflix subscription.

I miss our wii! Gary had one and traded it in. But his sister still has ones so we play any time we are there!
There are some awesome games for Wii. And there are more than "run around collecting coins" or "shootem up" games for wii! There are party games where you play in a group, educational games, fitness games, all sorts!
Plus you can use the internet on it, as well as watch netflix!
I thought about buying a new one, but we have an xbox360 and a ps3 so I just get my Nintendo fix from my DS

We have one and it is awesome! It is great at parties, as some people have mentioned. We play Wii Sports, Odaru Made in Wario, and Mario Kart Wii at parties mostly. By ourselves, we play Super Mario Galaxy (almost been divorced over that game about a million times!)
and Super Mario Bros Wii. If I am alone I will play MahJong Wii.

I love my Wii. It's not as powerful as the PS3 or XBox 360, but it's got a lot of really fun games. And since it's Nintendo, you don't really have to worry about it breaking. Plus the PS3 and XBox are much more prone to breaking down than the Wii.

I want a wii so bad.
My aunt has one and I always loved playing wii fit on it. Also there are a lot of fun horror games that I always wanted to try. Hehe and the Rayman games are fun and cute.

Since I moved recently and haven't had the money to ship my stuff out to Washington yet I don't really have more entertainment than the computer and the free 12 channels.

The most awesome Wii game I have ever played was Need for Speed Pro Street.

I have a Wii! We don't have a lot of games for it, but we play a few, and more than anything we use it to watch Netflix. I love it!

So, if you're not a video game person, even for the interactive moving games like bowling or whatever that aren't like 'video games', you can use it for that (if you have Netflix). Otherwise... sell it on ebay? Congrats on the win, anyway.

We got the kids one last Christmas. It was from Santa to Sneaky Pie
I tried to throw the kids off- then my youngest said "Mom- I saw dad take it in on Black Friday"
So much for a surprise huh?

I thought the kids would play with it more than they do. Yeah- they do play with it. We got Wii fit- I like that program. Wii Sports Resort is fun too, the girls like the sword fighting game. The bowling game is fun too- I do far better at that game than real bowling

The Lego series of games have been a real hit here. We have the Star Wars game and the Indiana Jones game. They're cute- and kind of funny. Both of those games also have these "shoot-em" parts- and I just have a hard time getting into that.

We did rent the Harry Potter Lego game last summer when my youngest was stuck on the couch for a week after fracturing her growth plate in her knee.
We all liked that one- even more than the 1st 2 games. They want that for Christmas, so we'll probably get that. Wii Party looks like fun too- I think that needs to be under the tree.

We can't get it to interface with our router- so I don't know if we'd be able to get Netflix movies on there.

But that's because they're actually computers. (though the 360 bit is because it's Microsoft and where they were made
)

We have a wii... It's put away in a drawer because we never use it.
If you like simplistic games, puzzles, kiddie stuff than you will enjoy the wii - otherwise you can use it for netflix now.

What sort of peripherals did you get with it? If all you have is one remote you're going to have to decide pretty quickly what you want to do with it since you'll need to get more stuff to play much of anything (especially if you want to play games with another person)

(Nintendo's scheme for making money off the wii is in part in the peripherals. Having sold game systems and games the one thing the salesperson is always supposed to do is push those peripherals so that the person ends up spending a couple hundred extra on them.)

well as i type im using the wii as the laptop is fubared again

but i tend to mainly use it for gaming or bbc iplayer, you can get some really good games for it depending what genre game you like not all are simplistic

the wii fit is also good fun to

also some multi player games you just need 1 remote to

We have a Wii. I think it's somewhat stupid, however you can "hook it up" to be able to watch movies instantly via netflix, which is what ours gets used for most of the time.

Playing with Jazzy & Ginga.
I have a Wii, we mostly use it for Wii Music and Wii Sports. We're thinking of getting some more games though, has anyone got any recommendations?

We tend to prefer the M rated games around here, with a few T. FPS, higher end graphics, extreme action/combat, gore, violence... The engines these games run on is too much for the wii. For the few games that do end up getting a later wii release, like Dead Rising, they have to dumb them down the specs just so it can even run. They have to simplify them..

A wii is a bit more powerful than a game cube, but the selling point is the peripherals. It is aimed towards children and family, not the serious adult gaming crowd.
