Smooch has another UTI

well it looks that way again, hes going into litterbox very frequently again

hes going to the vets in half an hour, poor Smooch

hes back from the vets she cant be sure if its UTI because they still need to take a sample but she (the vet) has put him on Metacam for 3 days and they need to get a sample into the vets

That's no good. I hope it's not crystals since waiting on a boy with those could be scary.

Are you to try to collect a sample at home? If it's a simple matter of having him in when his bladder if full, if you could bring him in after a long nap (if he sleeps most of the night with you) but before he can get to the litter box, that should work. You can also gently feel to see if a cat's bladder is full.

If your vet has never shown you how to do that, ask the next time you're in since you have a cat with repeated UTI's.

I hope you can get a sample out of him soon.

Poor Smooch. Hopefully the meds will work quickly so he's more comfortable.
Since Jamie has had trouble with crystals, I keep this on hand: Catrine Urine Collection Kit, since it's a stress-free way to get a sample.

see hes not my cat hes my mams and shes not one for taking advice from me hes just had a big drink and has gone to sleep

he hates the pearl things hes got a sand type one now

the vet thinks we caught it in good time as he started this thismorning

Our boys had problems with crystals until we changed their diet. Since your mam doesn't like to take advice re: Smooch, hope it's not crystals!
