Oh dear, I'm in a bit of a state, dh's grandad got dianosed with lung cancer in february, his nanna died last november and his grandad has really gone downhill from there. He hasn't done too badly considering, my mother in law and all of us have pulled together and helped but this past week he has deteriorated, today especially. He had ambulance out today as he collapsed but he denied treatment. The doctor came out after and told him he needed to be in hospital but he refused.
My hubby went to see him tonight and immediately called paramedics as he looked so ill, my mother in law is very ill with pluracy at the minute so has been relying on the nurses and my father in law going in and seeing that he is ok. The paramedics came at about 9.30pm and they have diagnosed him with nuemonia, why he wasn't diagnosed earlier I do not know but they have took him to hospital now and that is all I know so far. I am a bunch of emotions right now, this past month has been so tough and now this. we are preparin ourselves for the worse, his cancer is very advanced and we know he probably won't make it, even though we knew it makes it no easier and it is bringing back memories from dh's gran. Gosh, sometimes life is so cruel and especially to us just recently. I can see no light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak at the minute, I just need someone to tak to, everyone here has been so good to me so recently and now things like Harveysproblems seem so trivial.xx

Wow...I wonder how many years it's been since I heard the word "pleurisy."

You know that these things seem to go in bunches, and they usually hit us when we're the most vulnerable. I hope the kitties are at least keeping you company; they often can sense our distress.

I know there are many people here on this forum that care about you, and we would make it all better for you, if we could.

Thankyou, I spelt it incorrecty, trust me, dear me, I've just phoned the hospital, he's in rescuss (bet I've spelt that wrong too), they are waitin for a bed for him, they have started him on iv antibiotics so all my fingers and toes crossed that although he is incurable cancer this might give us all a bit of extra time. I'm just a mess, when dh's nanna died I fell apart completely and I cannot cope with that again. You all on here are just amazin, thankyou.xx

Ruth, I'm very sorry to hear about your DH's granddad, and his mother too. Gosh, when it rains, it pours, doesn't it?

Lung cancer is horrible, my father died from it a year and a half ago. Ugh.

It's so hard, I know, but try to be strong for your husband and family. You'll all get through it ok together.

I'll be thinking about you and sending well wishes your way.

I'm sorry to ask Ashley but didn't your grandad pass from the same thing? I have just spoke to mil, she can't go to the hospital as she is so ill but she is beside herself with worry. I understand that he is ill and he doesn't really want to be here without Barbabra but its never easy and hubby when his nanna passed was just a mess, I hope that he is ok this time. Dear me, I don't think my head can take anymore, I cannot thank all of you on here enough over these past weeks, it seems all I have done is ask for vibes, you're all amazing.xx
