study of the feline behaviour

Hello everybody,
\tI hope I am typing in the right section.
\tI am a veterinarian and I am writing my master thesis in etology at the university of Pisa.
\tAt the moment I am collecting, in cooperation with the university, some data on the behaviour of cats through some questionnaires. The study of the feline behaviour, in comparison with the dogs’ behaviour, is a little bit underestimated, therefore there are not many data available on this topic.
\tFor this reason, I am asking you if you are willing to help me with this project, by filling in a simple questionnaire which will enable us to better understand our feline friends.
\tFor a statisticalmatter, the cats taking part in this study must have an age between three and ten years.
\tThose who are interested in having the questionnaire, can write to me at the following e-mail address:
\tgrazia-71(at)hotmail.it
\tThanks a lot for your collaboration.

A warning of something you'll need to sort through. People's perception of a cat behavior and what a said cat behavior really means.

Example: People thinking cats pee on things out of spite when it's actually a health problem.

Even among cat owners, cats are often misunderstood.

I agree with Strange Wings.

Another example is the extensive yawning and streching cats do. This is often not cats being sleepy or lazy, but - them friendly. This being typical signs for showing being pal...
Many cat owners dont understand / dont know this. And prob also other cat behaviour.

Of course, it means, there is a lot of scope for etological studies, and telling people the results.

Grazia! A good way for you to repay us, is if you do participate some in threads, and gives your view as veterinarian...
Such participation is welcome.

(Our policy in all unsure cases is to recommend a vet visit or at least phone the vet, and of course in all cases we do know vet visit is necessary to make it.
So it is not it we want a forumist instead of a vet visit. but knowleable responses are always welcome).

The purpose of the study of cat behavior is precisely to understand the different meanings of behavior and to explain such behavior to the owners

If you can attend the forum with veterinary advice but unfortunately I do not speak fluent English ...

But thank you to everyone who helped me and that will help me again
