Ok...I know this either makes me sound a little crazy or kind of OCD (Obsessive Cat Disorder according to my DH
) and to many it's probably not a biggie but my little girl Poppet (I've had her for a week already and she about three and a half weeks old now) started licking her kitten food off my finger last night and tonight ate ... well sucked really ... a small teaspoon mixed with her formula off my finger and I just had to share my news
.
It was messy but the purring that came from her as she went was priceless.

Now she's curled up inside my DH's thermal beanie sleeping beside her Mommy Salem, (My daughters black soft toy cat that was made Poppet safe) and that Poppet loves to bits on my lap while I type.

I'm still trying to get my photos resized so I can post them, might have to call in the daughter to help me.:blush.

Have a great day ... or night
Bea and Poppet

I do have a question though ... do I offer Poppet food with every meal?
If I do I'm guessing it's only a little? If not how many meals and how much and how often?
I pretty much demand feed with her bottle, sometimes she has a little bit every couple of hours other times she drinks a lot more and can make it four to six hours before demanding loudly for a meal.
Common sense tells me to offer her solids a couple maybe three times a day but I want to be certain. All my other cats and rescues were older or had Momma cats to do this weaning business!

Sheeze this is nerve wracking!

And thanks Rosiemac, I'm thinking you'll be getting a PM from me.

I'll move your thread over to the kitten forum now so you can get some better advice from the experts. It may be this afternoon when you get some replies with the time difference though?

Good going, Moppet!! I would offer some with every meal just so she can learn to lick it up. That way it'll make the transition to kitten food easier.
