I've ranted in the past before about how the pole fitness studio I attended for over a year started treating clients badly, and ran me out (though I left willingly because I was tired of the treatment), and kicked my good friend out in August after she paid for 25 classes in advance (she is in the process of a BBB dispute with them, where the owner is lying repeatedly, and changing her reasons in each rebuttal
She also refuses to refund the pre-paid classes and punch cards ) Luckily my friend has all the emails to back it up, I made sure to save all of them. She also banned another friend from the studio for asking to come to NC with us to take a silks workshop! She doesn't even OFFER that workout!
Well my friend and I now spend around 4-4.5 hours on Mon & Wed teaching ourselves new things in the aerial world - on pole, hoop, and silks. We've been doing pretty well, and have achieved a lot in the last ~6 weeks or so we've been doing it. A LOT more than we did paying $150 every 6 weeks for classes there. I never deleted every instructor off my friend's list from the studio, but did delete the owner after a harassing email 5 months after I quit, and privatized my stuff for Friends Only, as much as I wanted her to envy what we were capable of (many things she has yet to achieve), and show her that our love for aerial fitness reignited after she almost snuffed the flame with the drama. (We now drive 3-4 hours to go to different studios 1-2x a month for "pole jams" with those instructors). She admits she has people who tell her all about what we do (okay why am I still a concern to you when I quit in FEB!). Turns out, they've been pretty much using our recent accomplishment pictures to find new stuff to teach
One of my friend's friends is still taking Level 4 (beginner advanced) lessons, and she said it seems whatever the easiest thing is that we post up one week, the following week that becomes their lesson. Could be coincidence, but we don't believe that, because it just started recently (and we just started recently doing it regularly together at her house). We also have found stuff they've never taught even the Level 5 girls, that they are suddenly teaching the Level 4's after we do it.
We're actually quite satisfied
PS: One of these days I might post pics if there's an interest in all the aerial stuff I mention!
