Just turned on the weather channel and saw the wind and storms coming our way tonight.

Looks like the Great Lakes are wild lakes today.

I always get on edge when wind is heading our way. We have huge old maple trees and giant evergreens. It makies it worse when it will be dark when it comes blowing into our neck of the woods.

Hang on everyone! Hope no one has any damage.

No wild weather here in Central NJ. As a matter of fact it is just the opposite, it going up to 75 degrees here and sunny, looks like summer is back and I'm not laughing.

Knox, TN has some crazy winds going on right now! We are under a wind advisory all day, and there are a line of powerful storms headed this way. Makes me nervous because I just saw how many towns are under a tornado watch for the day

Columbus Ohio is blowing away

We are under tornado watches all day, and the wind is crazy right now. I have all the windows open bc it is 78degrees and my house is burning up. The kitties are so interested in the way the curtains and blinds are blowing like CRAZY. Right now weather.com says we are getting 29-39mph winds but IDK how accurate it is. (There are many times when we get a tornado warning here that weather.com says light rain or windy...not sure how often they update it?)

And my area of town is about 5 miles away from the center of the town where my zip code is so I go more by what they say for Columbus. Hopefully everyone stays safe!! They thought earlier that the storms wouldn't be hitting me until about 3-5 pm but they are now saying it is going to hit a lot sooner....which scares me. I am at home alone with the baby I am watching and I am terrified of storms that produce tornado warnings. The news is now saying it should start hitting my area around 1 130, which is before Korey gets home from work at 2...so I am kinda worried.

We had horrendous storms last night. I am a confident driver, but last night was a scary trip the 20 miles from my friend's house to my house! I was driving the Teg instead of the Mustang because Rob wanted to keep the miles off it (yet he ended up driving 20 miles away also with it
), the wipers didn't work well and there was a blurry spot that wouldn't even rub off with a rag right in my direct vision! I've only driven the Teg about 3 times since I got the Mustang in July.

The speed limit on the main road between my house and hers is 55mph. Usually I'm fine doing the speed limit ... not last night. I was dong 40-45, any faster and the Teg was all over the place with the strong winds + water on the road. It rained for about an hour then stopped again like nothing happened.

We are supposed to have a chance of rain again today, and the "breeze" is supposed to be 20-25mph. It's muggy and gross and feels like rain outside.

Well, the weather today is "normal" but Sunday it poured here. Since we always need the water I didn't mind.

Wow, some scary stuff and not so scary stuff! Our weather guy said at noon that it has been since 1940 that we have had such a potent storm system heading our way. UGH! I love how they use those words to scare us!

Well its working!!

Yikes, those tornado warnings. We have a culvert under our road that is large enough to fit a person. My dad used to say to go in there if there ever was a tornado! No chance tho....I would never leave my kitties to fend for themselves. Guess it would be the cellar.

Gosh, going to be coming home at 5pm today from getting the grandkids off the bus at my sons house. Just the time it's supposed to get nasty.

Lovely timing! Stay safe everyone!

winter storm warning, anyone?? We got whitecrap falling sideways and blowing around. Also under a snowfall warning - expect 8ish inches by tomorrow morning, and more tomorrow......BLECH!!!! I guess in the cities, the streets are just a tad slick - rained last night then this on top of it makes for nicely polished interesections.

Cant I have your winter storm warning? I'll trade you rain for it
Heck, I'll even trade the 82ºF sunny muggy weather for it!

We're unseasonably warm right now and we'll take it. Any time we don't have to have the heat on is fine with us.

Our weatherweenies are calling for some t-storms later on tonight. And by this weekend, we should be back to more seasonable weather. It's been nice not having to have the heat on and being able to open windows again after a couple of weeks of cold weather.

I hope that everybody in the path of that wind storm stays safe! It's supposed to get pretty bad in some areas.

I'm in Chicago - we're having a 'chi-clone' right now - apparently gusts up to 60 miles, and I think most flights have been grounded. I called home and seems my power is still up - at work downtown and everything seems fine, although you can see lots of waves on the Chicago River near Wacker.

It rained really hard this morning - got drenched on the walk from the train. My kitties are no doubt snoozing away.

We had tornado warnings and a severe storm pass right through...I usually stay calm until they mention my little town on the news as in the path of the storm. We are all good here now though, just some damaged play things in the yard. they flew into my husbands car, so while I was in the basement with the cats & daycare kids, he was outside making sure his car was okay. weirdo. LOL.

Just crazy strong winds here. Otherwise it's fine. 54 degrees, which is normal for October here. Last year we had 8" of snow by now, so I'm happy with just strong winds. lol

Its been crazy here today!! Its been windy since early morning. I went to work for 6 am the drive was okay quite a downpour though. The winds strengthened about 8:30 or so. Our front door at the store kept blowing open so we locked the door and ran to unlock it for customers! Though one time it swung open and I grabbed it and it closed on my left index finger. Might lose the nail-its throbbing quite a bit (grrr). Gusts of rain off and on today. Skipped the gym and arrived home about 1:45 pm and lost power about 5 minutes later. It came back on about 90 minutes later. The local weather said peak wind gust in my area about 55 mph. Sustained winds are about 24 mph. The Door County area (the finger part of Wisconsin) will have even stronger wind gusts! There is a tall bridge that crosses the Fox River on the east side of Green Bay (to Door County) and the Highway dept is recommending that people do not travel on it. My husband takes this route to work every day but avoided it today. Its a white knuckled trip when its less windy I wouldn't want to guess how it would be today.

This is supposed to hang around another 48 hours so the east coast should have later this week. It will probably make national news but not for us.

Kitties make a brief attempt to go outside but turn tail and run back in!
Tornado touchdown in far Southern Wisconsin.

Wow lots of close calls....hopefully all will quiet down.....didn't get much here although tornado warnings downstate.

It got so dark tho, but just a little rain. I went out and got the carrier for Beeba just in case. And made plans for the rest of the group.

Hope everyone gets a good sleep after all the stress!!

My husband and I just took a vacation up to Wisconsin in late Sept.
We spent an afternoon in the Door County area, and absolutely loved it.

Oh, dear. I'm editing my original response. Just went on FB and saw that a friend on the other side of the county says a tornado touched down. Right now we're getting a little lightening/distance thunder.
