And now Sasha's completely flipped out

Sigh...to calm him down I tried to give him some calming gel from the pet store...he must have hated the scent because now he hates the smell of my hands...he started hissing at me and growling...I yelled at him and sprayed him with my water spray bottle to let him know not to hiss at me...

He actually took a few swats at me growling at me as if he truly hated my guts and finally hid under the bed.

So now he's hiding under the bed with this nasty look on his face, growling and swatting at me and he won't come out...so now I feel bad, very guilty for yelling at him and spraying him and (yeah I'm so mature, 46 and crying because the cat won't calm down and "forgive me" ) I've been bawling like a child like "What have I done, now he doesn't trust me"...

Tiggy's been freaked out by my crying so now he's also hiding under the bed...and I'm afraid that Sasha might hurt him in his current nasty mood...

I really really screwed up this time...and Sasha's Vet appointment tomorrow...a bit of Vet mojo would be appreciated!

Sasha's come out and was lying in bed. He was back to his normal self. He allowed me to pet him, then I lay down and he proceeded to give me a leg and stomach massage, purring loudly!

Lessons learned:

*Sasha's always had a sensitive nose, be careful what I give him
*When he acts weirded out, leave him be give hims space to quiet down rather than following him around trying to baby-talk him and pet him into calming down
*The more upset I get, the madder he acts; so...Luke me foyne boyo, keep yer wits about ye!

Good for you, Luke, for capturing take-aways for yourself. Very few incidents are completely negative or a total loss if you learn something from them.

Add to your list: Cats are forgiving, so if you make a mistake, it's usually not the end of your relationship, especially if you don't repeat it.

<<<Hugs>>> for going through such a rough time! (And don't feel bad about crying; I'm 45 and I've cried over cat-related issues, too.)

Regards.
