My 3 month old kitten has recently started to attacked my other cat's tail all the time. They get along somewhat (it's only been 10 days), but when the kitten is in a playful mood, he constantly chases my other cat and goes after his tail. Is this normal, or do I need to scruff my kitten to teach him to not do that?

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

It's perfectly normal. Everything is a toy, other cat's tails included. No need to scruff the neck of your kitty now or ever.

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure if it was some sort of torment, or just playing. I just saw my cat do the same thing back (he was just running away/making a weird squeaking meow chirp earlier), so that put my mind more at ease. I thught maybe the older cat didn't view it as play time like the kitten did.

The tail swishing back and forth captures the attention of a kitten because it's just like a string or something moving back and forth. They will pounce on it and attack it and bite it. Your other cat will take care of telling him that biting his/her tail is totally inappropriate!
My 5 year old still will occasionally play with the tail of my 14 yo!

Although some adult cats are very friendly to kittens and let them do everything, and thus - in some variations need help... So watch out a little.
So it was home with us - including the son biting on the tail of his big massive daddy the stud while daddy was asleep... Eating daddys food... Daddy letting him win the wrestling matches...
But when the kitten began to be a fertile teenager, THEN it become clear who was the revire holder, and who was allowed to be present, but only as long as he behaved and knew his place ...
