That pharmacy was actually in my top three I was considering, hearing some reviews that they're reliable helps. Thank you, to both of you. Blann's coughing seems to be controlled on the 110mcg @ 2x daily, or atleast I have yet to hear anything out of him to prove otherwise. (I wish human asthma could be controlled so fully)

iirc the 220mcg inhaler on that site is $96.

It claims to get its brand flovent from New Zealand, but also says Barbados on the site. What do you use gardenandcats (generic or brand) and where does the box say it's made at?

Also, does anyone else have a problem with the little flap in the middle part of their aerokat sticking? Even when clean and dry? I would blame Blann and say he's learned to breath lightly but I've tested it and it will stick on me unless I pull a really strong breath through it.

Brooklet: I'll get back to your pm when I'm at my comp where my links are.

I use the Generic from New Zealand. They ask when I order each time. I have had no problems with my Aerokat sticking ever. maybe yours is defective?

I don't think it is? It certainly looks normal and at least 90% of the time it responds perfectly fine. It may just be that it's not drying out very well even though I'm not seeing any water in it.

Does the generic have a counter on it like the GlaxoSmithKline brand does?
If there's no problems with the generic it could potentially save Brooklet and I another $10-20 or more.

But that's not the time to discover you need another inhaler.

Yeah unfortunately, I don't feel comfortable enough yet to NOT have a counter, although I'd love to save the extra money.

gardenandcats - Just a question. When you order from CanadaDrugs, do you order from the actual CanadaDrugs site? Or the PetDrugs.com site? When I was researching pharmacies, I came across PetDrugs.com and saw that they seemed to be a part of CanadaDrugs, though not licensed. I wasn't 100% clear on how the 2 were connected so I emailed CanadaDrugs a few days ago and they replied back saying that PetDrugs.com is a subsidiary of CanadaDrugs and to order pet medicine I'd have to go through PetDrugs.com and not CanadaDrugs.com. I did explain to them in my initial email that I would be ordering Flovent which is a human and a pet medicine, so I wasn't sure if I had to order through PetDrugs just because it was a pet, or if it was because they thought I was ordering a strictly for pets medicine. I get that they are connected, but since CanadaDrugs is licensed and PetDrugs isn't, I still feel more comfortable going through the main site. I'm still not quite clear on why one is licensed and one isn't if they are really the same place. Are pet pharmacies licensed in Canada? Maybe thats the difference?

I order directly through candian drugs site. I always have a new Flovent so I don't worry about one running out. I always have a spare on hand!

So when (first) ordering from CanadaDrugs, do you simply make the order then let the vet fax the script in? What about where they ask for medical history/medications? How do you fill that out for a cat? Will they (now) complain any and refer you to the other pet section instead?

I need to head out to the vet either tomorrow or Friday to pick up food so I intend to ask my vet if he's willing to work with me ordering from a Canadian pharmacy. Tanna just coughed, too, so it looks like I'll have company...

She has rarely ever coughed, but was a little short winded and not as energetic yesterday in her game of fetch. My vet is reluctant to have more than Blann medicated (also because that could mean all three siblings will be), but I think I'm going to talk to him about doing more for the girls. I just can't risk their lungs and quality of life. Her lung inflammation has always been much less than Blann's - so do either of you think 110mcg would be too much? Would it be better a 1 x daily or should I simply see what works best for her?
This is all new to my vet, too, so he's rather tentative.

Blann has now been on Flovent since Nov. 11, btw, and has been doing wonderfully. He's quite active and hasn't coughed once.

Just an update, my vet and I are trying to get this set up today.
No one mentioned that this pharmacy had a referral option... I would be willing to be a referral if anyone needs that in the future. It gets both parties $25 out of it.

They also take coupon codes. New accounts/scripts can use FIRST25310 to get 25% off. (it does work, I just used it and saved $19-something)
Existing can use CC02-0110 on generics. Though I can't promise either will work after the new year.

Hopefully this order goes through without a hitch, Blann still has a month of inhaler left but I don't want to risk getting too low.
Tanna had a steroid shot earlier and depending on how things go the girls may have to go on an inhaler, too.

Hey there, I just saw your post after doing research about cat asthma.  Well, my 17 year old Thomas was just diagnosed with Asthma. He had been coughing for about 6 months which I could no longer ignore.  Any luck and good knowledge about Flovent which he has been prescribed.. and to buy the face mask for the inhaler..

The cat Flovent and the human Flovent are the same, so find the cheapest pharmacy you can. The Canada Pharmacy is reputable and I have used it for my human patients for years.  You will want to order an Aerokat spacer deliver system to give it to your cat, but I found it easy to train Babycat to use it.  She now comes to her chair twice a day to get her inhaler, and sometimes even purrs right through process!  It has caused her to gain weight, and of course she is at more risk for diabetes, but her asthma was severe, and now she can breath.

Hi, I am new to Flovent and am looking to purchase through CanadaDrugs. My vet prescribed my cat 1 puff of Flovent 110, 2xs per day. The listings look different on CanadaDrugs. Would the 125 be the same as the 110? Please let me know if you are familiar! Thank you!!!

Hi, I just found this site, because my cat has been diagnosed with asthma and the vet recommended Flovent. I'm in California and the prices around here for the 110mcg were: Target - $184, Costco - $184,  Walmart -$191. I picked one up from Target since she needs it now, but I'm hoping to find it cheaper. I'm happy to see others have had good experiences with CanadaDrugs. I'll have to look into it. Most of this thread is pretty old, so if anyone has found a better place recently, I'd love to hear about it.

I'm sure MaineCooneMama has already purchased her medication, but just in case it helps someone else my box of 110mcg says: "Each actuation of the inhaler delivers 125mcg of futicasone propionate from the valve and 110mcg from the actuator." Maybe that's the difference.

Wow this is an old thread! It's actually been a while since I was on this forum. I came back on a few days ago to ask a question unrelated to this but saw that this thread has been revived. To answer the latest question though, it's 3 years later from when I first said I used CanadaDrugs and I still use them for my flovent. I've never had any problems with them and it continues to be cheaper to order from them. When my Moe was first diagnosed with asthma I was new to it and had never dealt with feline asthma before, so I liked buying the brand name which had a counter on the inhaler. Since then I've gotten good at figuring out when the inhaler is going to run out, and I've also asked my doctor for a prescription with refills. The refills allow the pharmacy to give you all of the medicine at once so now I get 3 inhalers at the same time. And I buy the generic version now because it's even cheaper. There is no counter on the generic though.

If you go with CanadaDrugs and would like a referral feel free to send me a PM with your email address and I can send you a link. I think you'll get $25 off your first order. That's how it used to be done, but I'm not sure if that has changed. Basically, we both get $25 off our next order.

Good luck on your pharmacy search!

BuyLow Pharmacy in Canada seems to have the lowest prices--worth checking out. Apparently, just this last week regulations were changed, and Canada can't ship pet Rxs to other countries, if I understand. However, the Flovent comes from some country other than Canada. Also, all Rxs take two to four weeks to arrive. I'm in the process of arranging for two asthma medications (for my itty bitty kity, ZuZu Petals Venus DePanda), from this pharmacy. Will have to use these Rxs as back-up, as I need to fill her prescriptions a lot sooner than two to four weeks! But savings appear to be substantial! This is the first time my vet's office has dealt with prescriptions from a Canadian pharmacy, so we're all learning how it works. (FYI--ZuZu is such a small cat--was rescued as a tiny kitten, who eventually grew to seven pounds--she was just so tiny, that she needed a really big name!)

Gardeandcats,

I know I am responding to a rather old post, but if you receive this message, can you tell me if the Canadian pharmacy you referred to for flovent was in fact reliable? The medication was real and that you never had any issues with billing or your payment? I need to get this medication for my cat but am so skeptical and would appreciate any information.

@elicha869 Try asking for a more current web site to buy Flovent or the generic equivalent from on the Yahoo Feline Asthma group: https://beta.groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/felineasthma/info

I use Canada Drug and it is reputable. In fact I recommend it.

Can anyone tell me how to get my hands of Flovent without a prescription? It works fine for my cat but my vet won't give me my prescription without a wellness visit. And that usually ends up hurting my cat. It is at the point where I would rather let my cat suffer with asthma or copd than suffer with the damage done at a visit.

It really is a good idea for a vet to look over your cat periodically. It's possible that something has changed about its health where the medicine could do more harm than good. Is it possible to get a vet to come to your home to a checkup?
