How can we tell how this kitten is?
Just over a week ago, the mama cat brought this baby to our backyard a couple days before she gave birth and kicked it out of the nest, so to speak. He has all his teeth, eats solid food, and uses the litter box well. He weighs 3.2 pounds, but you can still feel his sternum, hip bones and scapulae.

Rule of thumb would be about a pound per month of age. Hard to tell from the pics but I would guess the kitten is 3-4 months old. You can have a vet verify the age, set up an appointment to neuter/spay now and start the kitten on shots.

Are there any teeth that look longer than the rest (except the canine, they are always longer)? that would mean adult teeth have started growing in, which would be past three months at least. If the kitten is as skinny as you say, but still weighs over 3 pounds, I would think it would be closer to 4 months, since my 3 month old is the same weight, but he's been fed more than that kitten.
