Petco's "Trixie DreamWorld" Furniture?

Anyone ever seen this brand before, or know of anyone who owns it?

I was just looking online @ Petco's kitty furniture, and came across this line - Trixie's DreamWorld. It says it's a new item/online only. There are a *few* reviews, but not many.

What caught my interest was the price! Seems fairly cheap (that said, some of them are obviously smaller trees). However I bought two cheap/clearance cat trees in Petco 4 years ago for $15 & $25 - they're still going strong!

I'm divided, I want a larger cat tree, but fear for Lola "Stupey Tail"s safety - she's clumsy & not very smart. If she's on top of the tree & has a seizure..... ???? So I've been considering several smaller/shorter cat trees, as opposed to 1 - 2 large ones.

I'm assuming no one else has heard of it, either? I'm thinking about ordering a cheaper/smaller one - just to see. We'll see what I finally settle on!

Wow, they are cheap, but like you said, based on the measurements some of them seem really small. Next time I am near Petco I will have to check. I know it is online only, but sometimes some of the stores have a few of the online only items.

I have this one http://www.petco.com/product/113207/...C_CatFurniture

It's not a tall tree, so I can't stay how sturdy those are for this brand. My thoughts on this one is that it's ok - the cats managed to tear off the bottom ladder ( ) from scratching on it, though. It needed a few extra screws added, too.

I'm familiar with Trixie pet supplies, but don't have much experience with the trees. Jamie had a small one from Trixie for about two years. It wasn't good quality, but he had a lot of fun destroying it. For the price, it was worthwhile.

There's next to no reviews online. Petsmart doesn't have em and while Amazon does, theres not even a single review there.

If its online only, just buy one that has free shipping after confirming that you CAN return it to a petsmart store without having to pay return shipping.

That way there's no risk.

I was headed to my Petco Saturday so I checked & they don't have them, I discovered the same thing you did once - that the store had an "online only" item. I also asked some of their managers if they've heard any positive or negative feedback on them - they've heard nothing one way or another (and I trust them to tell me the truth given how much I shop there).

I printed off comparisons of tons of trees off Petco & went back through them last night with several other people for feedback. I ruled out the one you have based on the ladders, if there are ladders they'd need to be solid to decrease the chances of Lola being able to injur herself on them. Another concern I had was how sturdy/stable would it be - so it's good to know it's held up OK for you.

Good to know that it only lasted about 2 years. That makes me lean away from them, no matter how cheap. Because if they destroy easy.....Lola will eat *anything* that fits in her mouth. I don't need her eating them (and she chews on the cat trees, too). My favorite little fruit loop.

I just saw some mention of being able to return it to the store, so was considering such. (I also considered donating it to somewhere if I hated it.) The lack of reviews anywhere concerned me, as I did google the brand & some of the names of the trees I'm considering. But they may be fairly new, and if it takes a week to ship to, then I can understand not many reviews as people wouldn't have had them long.

I did get a link of something wonderful e-mailed to me, for Lola. It was a giant hamster wheel, she aught to be safe in that! I've always been over-protective of my cats, but Lola's so injury prone....I've never been this "paranoid" about a cat before.

(PS - Still shopping, I found this tree on Amazon I like but the reviews are so-so, both the build & the fact that it's PINK!)

Well, I'm kind of narrowing things down. I've pretty much ruled out the Trixie furniture, the cheaper ones are so small IMO they aren't worth getting, or else they'd be a danger to Lola. I've found a model of Armarkat furniture I like, the one a family member of mine has, so I'm going go with that. I can get it off Amazon for just over $100. I'm a little nervous of it's height - but I think we'll be OK so long as gravity doesn't surprise Lola too much.

What I'm trying hard to find it something basic like this -

Twitch would *love* that....but I'm not willing to pay much over $50 for it, let alone $120+. Twitch would love the trees with the "tunnels" on them (larger for an adult 10 lb cat with a massive spay sway ). And the cradles I know she'd love.

I've found them on eBay for an OK price, but I'm not willing to purchase through eBay. So I keep looking....

My boys like the cradle shape, too... and the "hammocks" or baskets.

I ended up picking up these two trees on Petco today. This one is shorter & this one is larger.

Of course, Lola cannot figure out either of them. She just falls off.

Give her a little time and maybe arrange some beds or smaller boxes nearby to help. She may figure out the smaller one and the bottom levels of the larger one.
