THis is my first post... and I've been doing, so much searching and searching and decided to look for a forum... Should've seen this before...

but...

My Cat, Orion, has something wrong with his eye. Cats have 2 eye lids right? the "opaque" one and then the outlayer. Well whichever it is... The "opaque" one has become inflamed, guessing, since it is now shown. 2 days ago, it was a little more to the center of his eyes.. I've been washing it with warm water, and well...

The Inner Eye lid has gone down some and started receding back. But does anyone know the Cost, and or if I need to take him to the vet? Please... This big guy, is an important part of the family, I've spent soooooo much money on him..! no problem spending more, but what I've read he might lose his sight...

to TCS! He definitely needs to be seen by a vet to determine whether he has an illness or injury. The nicitating membrane will protrude with a number of illnesses, e.g., upper respiratory infections. The longer you delay, the more expensive treatment may become. Many for him.

Welcome to the forum.

I would call your vet right away and get him in asap. The longer you wait, the worse it could get. It may not be anything serious and maybe they will just give you eyedrops and he'll be fine. But it could also be something more serious. You need a vet to look at him and diagnose him. Please don't wait- call now!

There's no place like home
While the warm compresses might be relieving the inflamation, it's not going to treat the medical problem that is causing it in the first place. Your treating the symptoms and not the cause.

There are so many things that cause a cat's inner eyelid to swell that there is no way that we can offer you any other suggestion than to get him to a vet to find out what is wrong. I've seen them swell from things as diverse as a simple cold to kidney failure. It's a major signal that there is some health problem going on with them.

Sending healing vibes your way!
