I do live in California, but Pelosi is not in my district, so I can't vote against her. Can't stand the b****, but I can't vote against her, and likely her district will re-elect her, though she may lose her speaker job!

I think O'Donnell is more mis-understood and inarticulate than dumb. It's likely she will vote along with other Republicans, and that is a good thing. It's very unlikely that she will author any meaningful legislation. But as long as she casts votes against Obamanomics, I'm good with it.

On a side note, I wonder if a requirement for House and Senate representatives to have a credit score above 700 was a requirement, how many current office holders and candidates could we get rid of? I wonder what Obama's FICO score was before his nomination??? Now that would be an interesting test, and a requirement I could easily support!!!

The Obama's own a house in Chicago.... I'm sure the FICO score is quite fine. Though I don't see the point of that mattering in an election. FICO score can be sheer luck. Ever get laid off? That will screw you up real good for decades on credit.

Under the same kind of logic, I would never want a senator like this in congress. As long as they can provide some kind of meaningful debate or legislation I'm cool with them. I find a person who would just vote with either crowd to be unqualified. If you have nothing new to add or have no desire to try to govern then why would I elect you?

Actually, being laid off does NOT affect your credit score. Not paying your bills while you're laid off DOES. Dottie just spent 10 months unemployed, and our credit score didn't change.

My guess would be that George W. Bush likely had a poor credit score, because he probably didn't buy much on credit. I would think Warren Buffet, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and Donald Trump all have low FICO scores, due to a lack of credit. But I bet they have no trouble getting a loan or a credit card (for traveling, etc.).

And, of course, it would take a constitutional amendment to institute such a practice, and since FICO scores are controlled by a semi-secret corporation (several, actually), I just don't see anything like that happening.

I don't think it would ever happen either, but how one pays one's bills is a good indication of character. And that's my point. Of course if you are famous and have boatloads of cash, a FICO score wouldn't be important to you.
