Will vapor rub help a cat with a cold? Our cat satin has a cold and refuses to take the pills the vet gave him, will vapor rub help him breath better?
Please do not rub it ... a steamy shower can help

I wouldn't put that anywhere near or on the kitty - no...

Humidifier or steamy shower as stated is good.

Ok thank you!

If you can't get the pills into your cat you need to be letting the vet know, he may also be able to show you how to pill a cat or give a liquid medicine instead.

Another thing I have always used on my fosters (vet recommended) is a non-medicated saline solution. It clears them up very nicely!

OK i will try that, poor Satin just doesn't take the pills or the liquid, he throws it all right back up, I'm willing to try anything, I'm more into doing herbal things for myself and my pets, but I do have some non-medicated saline solution. I will try this. I just hate seeing him so sick, I haven't been letting him around the other cats because I don't want them sick and he hates it.

Yep, right into the nose. They don't like it, but it really does help.

How much should I put in his nose?

I believe two drops but that may be a trick

I tried it and oh boy did he hate it!!!! But he seems to be breathing better.

I do saline sinus rinses myself and can testify to the relief it often brings. I think it is great you were able to do this to your cat! Glad to hear he was breathing a bit better too.

How is he feeling today?

Satin is breathing so much better and is playing again instead of sleeping all day, he actually woke me up this morning with a mew instead of a sneeze.

He also might not be contagious. Attitude has had eye infections and now 2 URIs from heck all the time and has never been separated from her brother Nuts and he has never been sick a day in his life.

Not saying he isn't contagious but for the most part when cats are sick like this they aren't so he might not have to be separated from everyone else.
