My cousin, Jamie, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl last night at 7:22pm. She is 20'' long and weighs 7 pounds, 2 ounces. They named her Isabella Grace. I'm so excited and the baby is just beautiful! Both mommy and baby are doing well and I am so happy for my cousin, her family, and our family as a whole.
Isabella is a miracle baby. My cousin had numerous miscarriages (in fact, 4 of them -- not including the loss of a baby boy when she was 6.5 months pregnant). So, this is a joyous occasion for everyone in the family. Her due date was November 8th, but she was rushed to the hospital this past Saturday due to very high blood pressure, abnormal bleeding and leaking of amniotic fluid, and excessive swelling. They released her the same night and she then went back on Monday after seeing her OB/GYN. They said they were going to do a c-section, but then opted against it until an amnio was done. That was done yesterday morning and they determined the baby was healthy and strong enough to be born. But, they still wanted my cousin to try to have a normal, vaginal birth. Unfortunately, last night, the baby's heart rate dropped and my cousin's blood pressure sky-rocketed. They did an emergency c-section and beautiful Isabella Grace was born. She is healthy and both she and my cousin are doing exceptionally well.
I have just one photo, but considering it was taken directly after the c-section, I will wait until my aunt sends me the newest pictures to share Isabella's photo. But, pics are on the way! And, while I may be biased, I do think Isabella Grace is a beautiful baby. And, as for my cousin, well, she's positively glowing!
I just thought I'd share this happy news...
