Nutro Max and Nutro Natural Choice

I have been trying to figure out why Natural Choice is better then Max, they both look like they have about the same ingredients but why is one much cheaper then the other?

They now are IMHO very similiar...

Natural choice used to ONLY have rice as the primary grain...now it has rice and wheat

NC still has a dental proven shape and hairball reducing formula...

NC has HIGHER protein and fatty acid levels than Max

Max is designed to taste better for a finicky kitty

I stopped feeding my cats Nutro and Max Cat when I discovered corn as one of the ingredients. I don't know if they still use it---it was several years ago.

There is NO ground corn or whole corn ... there is corn gluten( which is digested far differently than the whole or grd version) which if you had Read the bag prior to purchase is easy to see in the ingredient list...

I just bought a couple bags of Max (it was on sale ), and corn gluten is the second ingredient, and it's very grainy. I'm not real thrilled about that, but the price was good. . .I don't think I'd pay full price for it though.

Nutro Max Cat Adult Roasted Chicken formula, top 5 ingredients:
Chicken meal, corn gluten meal, wheat flour, ground rice, poultry fat.

Not great ingredients. But at least chicken meal is first.

ETA: I just looked up the ingredients for Natural Choice, and it has almost the exact same top 5 ingredients, except that wheat flour was listed after the fat. And it has 42% protein vs 32% for Max.
