Here's a solo in Japan by Paul Gilbert and Billy Sheehan. Paul Gilbert was in The Doors, and wrote "Light My Fire."

It's rare to see a double neck guitar. Here are two of them!

He's extremely talented... but he would have been 1 year old. I've seen some pretty crazy things on the Racer X board, but I think that might be the tallest tale, yet.

I think I got two articles confused, one in "Guitar Player," and one in "Vintage Guitar!"

He writes for Guitar World, if you have any of those laying about.
Though he plays a lot of stuff, if you don't listen to metal (or Mr. Big) you might not be that familiar with Paul Gilbert - which is sort of what I figured.

I'd point you to Racer X songs on youtube, but again you'd have to like metal to enjoy them.

It was guitarist Robbie Krieger who wrote "Light My Fire."

Old age is a pain, but it's better than the alternatives!

My thoughts exactly. I'm a huge Gilbert fan. I've been working on Technical Difficulties for so long. I can play the album version, but there's a version on Youtube with some differences that makes it quite a bit harder. He's an incredible guitarist and quite the comedian as well.

Everyone forgets stuff, age really isn't the reason why. I remember watching some show on the human brain and they talk to this one guy who was over 100. His memory for details was simply amazing! They came to the conclusion that it was part health and genetics and largely in part that he kept his mind "in shape", constantly learning new things.

As for new things, I hope you discovered a new guitarist last night!
As Tiger gushed, Gilbert is an amazing guitarist. Sheehan is a pretty amazing bassist, too. The two of them would do that back and forth a lot in Mr. Big.

Something I forgot that's driving me nuts - who played drums on Ann Lewis' Meiki. I know for at least some of the songs it was a big name rock drummer - but I can't remember who.
