Well we went to the GI dr yesterday.... and have addined 1CC of Zantac to the mix (15mg)
We also have to go for a swallow studay and a milk scan.... If she turns blue again, or fails these tests it will mean surgery to make the opening to her stomach smaller at Columbia in NYC
They said its a small chance... but I hate that they even had to metion it!

For the milkscan they add radioactive material to her bottle and watch where it goes as she drinks and for an hour after shes done, then the next day we come in to see if there are any traces of the material in her lungs. For the swallow study I was told they have the baby sit in a foam chair and you just feed them like you normally would, and they watch waht happnes on a monitor, this will also come with an evaluation by a speach terapist.

I am hoping everything turns out well, its very scary for me. She STILL has this dumb cold (day 14) and I'm sure that, combined with teething, isn't helping this refulx at all!

PS... I'm not posting about these tests or the possibility of surgery on FB, I don't want my family freaking out.... they tend to overract, AND misread things! lol

PPS... Here is the link to the orgional thread http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=222153

I have always said the worst part about being a mother is seeing your child sick. My oldest was born 3 months premature. We adopted her at 10 weeks. I spent the first three years of her life in doctor offices and hospitals. I know this is very difficult, but if they find the problem they can work to remedy it. for Lexi , Mommy and Daddy

Vibes for you, Lexi, and Jon!
I know I could have had my son have surgery when he was a baby on his stomach and I was so scared to have it done I never told the doctor his symptoms.

We have some piliminary test results.... she passed the Milk Scan, however, she did get some milk in her lungs during her Swallow Study
It was luckily only a little bit and we shouldn't have much to worry about. We see the GI dr on Thursday, I already know they will be thickening her feedings (to at least the consistancy of pepto, which is where the person doing ht etest today told me to move it to) and changing her medications.

Thanks everyone for all the support thought this. I'll update again after we see the dr on Thursday.
