The world's sleepiest cat

One year ago,we brought 6 month old Sonny Boy into our home,
and he has been nothing less than delightful.

I have noticed that at the ripe old age of 18 months,Sonny seems
to have lost interest in playing with toys or humans, climbing on tables, chairs and kitchen counters,or even sitting in the window.

He loves his sleep, though, and is getting a ton of it.

The good news is that he seems happy.
He certainly loves to be petted as he relaxes on the couch with us

But I'm concerned at this rather quick jump from kittenhood to
behavior resembling an 18 YEAR old cat, rather than an 18 month old.

Does this sound unusual to you folks?

(he's going to the vet in 2 weeks for shots...)

It is unusual. I would not wait 2 weeks to take him to the vet. Cats do act sleepy (lethargic) when they are sick; obviously the petting brings him comfort. They are very stoic animals and hide illness/pain. Any changes in eating, peeing, pooping, grooming etc?

I agree. He should be playing some. I have one kitten/young cat here that has went through some pretty major health issues (and still is). As the inflammation in his lungs worsened you could see the drastic change in his energy level. He literally stopped playing altogether because he felt bad and couldn't breath.

Get your kitty in ASAP. The sooner you catch any possible illness, often the easier and hopefully cheaper (if you're lucky) it is to treat.
