Bugsy just vomited something very yellow, artificial looking... I am not really sure what to think of it.
This morning was his last Clavamox pill, so is it possible that his stomach is still upset? He took it for 7 days - this is the first time ever he vomits... His stomatitis medicine, when very very diluted leaves yellow stains, and he took a dose around 6pm, so I am thinking that's what is in the vomit?
There was a tiny bit of hair, so he might be trying to pass a hairball?
Gosh... I just don't know what to think?
Am I safe to assume that this is due to the 7 days of Clavamox working havox on his stomach?

Clavamox can be nasty stuff. The last time Franklin took it it nearly killed him. He didn't eat for nearly 5 days. Now that he's finished with it, I'd watch her for a day or so and see if he doesn't improve as the effects of the Clavamox lessen.

That's called stomach acid (bile in it specifically). When not diluted by water or containing any food it is yellow. It's yellow in humans, too.

It wouldn't be the medication from last night. If it was he would have vomited food as well because that would mean his stomach was blocked - otherwise his stomach had emptied sometime last night depending on what you fed him.

I'm guessing it was the Clavamox. That type of antibiotic isn't really best given on a completely empty stomach (for animals or humans). In the future give him a small meal before medications unless it specifies not to.

You may want to mention to the vet that his vomit did have a lot of bile mixed with it recently. If you see more like that, have his liver checked.

There's no place like home
Once in a while one of mine will vomit yellow bile. Mine occasionally eat leaves from my (non poisonous) plants or nibble on plant matter that the dogs have brought in with them (e.g. grass clippings on their paws). It upsets their stomachs and if empty, contains a high percentage of bile.

I'm not concerned if it happens once. If it happens a second time I watch them closely to see what they've gotten into and remove it from the house. We brought a potted plant inside last year for the winter and it made them sick. We immediately moved it into a room with a closed door and the cats were fine after that.

Something irritated his stomach. Could have been the Clavamox, or he might have gotten into something that bothered him.

Have you at least called the vet to discuss this? Or to see if they would want to change/add anything to the mix?

catsallaround, this happened 1am, so I didn't have a chance to call the vet at the time... The last Clavamox pill was Saturday morning, so there is really nothing to change "on the mix"...
I left a message to my vet today, but in speaking to the vet tech, she didn't appear too concerned as it happened once only, and he is eating, acting normal and using the box... She will ask him regardless and give me a call back. She does think it is probably an effect from the antibiotic.
It is now 12hrs later, and it hasn't happened again, so I feel calmer... I will keep an eye on him to make sure he is OK; if it happens again I will bring him in to the vet if he thinks it is necessary.

One of the best things to have on hand is a er clinic who isnt afraid to give a few words of advice-After all settles down you may want to look around and see-heck don't even have to be local as long as you have an er vet by you.
Few of my cats can stay on variable amount of times before they cant take anymore antibiotics(one has issues with most of them, another CANT take liquid but pills no issue..)

You still waiting for a call back?

Yes, I am still waiting for a call back... But I do not think this is a matter of calling an ER vet. Bugsy is eating and drinking normally, using the box normally, playing, and acting completely normally. He has not thrown up again... This was a one time thing, and I am ok in waiting for a call back. Believe me when I tell you, if I thought his life or health was in danger in any way shape or form, he would be at the vet already. But he is acting completely fine... Since he was on clavamox for 7 days, and several people seem to have cats with tummy issues while on clavamox, I am inclined to believe that's what happened to him. I will not give his stomatitis meds today to give his stomach some time to heal until tomorrow. If he throws up again, I will take him in.
Again, I AM watching him very very closely, and he is fine. I am very confident this is not an ER issue.

No I wasn't saying it is an er issue at ALL, but at 1 am it would have been nice to have been able to talk to a vet tech who could have asked a vet on spot.
Some will tell you only bring cat in other places will advise/put your mind at ease.
I am SO thankful to have found some truly great vets so I don't have to wait long for call backs! Was not that easy were I grew up. I dropped a few vets over the years. Good luck.

catsallaround, I do have great vets too - this one has 45 years of experience and great love for my cats - I trust him. I work with 2 vets, one is temporarily closed until the end of October, one ER hospital, and one dentist. I believe I am covered. The reason why I was waiting for a call is he was out of the office on home calls, that is all... Since Bugsy is fine, I prefer not to freak out about it.
Anyways....
I did speak to him, and this is what he says: Bugsy probably just had an occasional stomach upset. In cats, bile is very often associated with vomit. Since it only happened once, I DO NOT need to worry about it... If he starts throwing up again, to bring him in as then there is definitely something wrong.
As I said, he is eating, drinking, using the box and behaving completely normal.
