Bought soulistic for Neko and she loved it! Wondering though... does she need more than one can since it only contains 1% crude fat vs the usual 5% on other 3oz cans (wellness for ex). She ususally gets 1/4 cup dry and 3oz wet.

"Soulistic cat food is formulated to meet nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for adult maintenance."

"feed 1 oz. for each pound of bodyweight daily"

"formulated to promote balance, health and wellness in your cat"

This is from the petco web, can says same except for last statement (web). I don't see "supplement only" on can just the above AAFCO statement.

Crude Protein (min) 10%, Crude Fat (min) 1.4%, Crude Fiber (max) 0.5%, Moisture (max) 84%, Ash (max) 2.0%, Calcium (max) 0.25%, Phosphorus (max) 0.25%, Magnesium (max) 0.03%, Taurine (min) 0.05%.

My gang won't eat the Weruva I bought. Wonder how the Soulistic would go over. Wish there was a way for me to try just one can at a time.

I've got three cases of Weruva waiting for my next trip out past the shelter.

No it is a complete food... for adult cats... I asked because normally ones that low in fat are supplemental not complete..

1 oz per lb is the way they make up for the lower fat .... most foods are 3/4 of oz per lb roughly as a guideline...

So will she be okay on her regular 1/4 dry and 3oz of this brand with its lower fat or should I feed her an extra can? It may be a new regular for her. Wellness and Proplan selects are also her regular, which she was starting to get tired of
but I plan to mix with the rotation of wet.

My cat Rowan now prefers the Soulistic over Wellness canned! She will only eat a little then turn her nose up at it. Of course now she is getting kinda fat due to constantly grazing on dry so I am starting to limit the dry that the cats get.

Same here, turns her nose up to anything that doesn't have seafood. Tried Soulistics chicken and pumpkin... nope, not interested. Mixed with it Wellness Sardine, Crab, and Shrimp and she dug right in

Inexplicably, Ritz will eat the Soulistic food that comes in a pouch but not the same/similar flavor that comes in the can. Go figure.... Ritz will also eat the Wellness pouch, not as crazy about the Wellness can.
Her tastes change daily; one day she'll eat AvoDerm, the next, she'll turn her nose up at it. Somewhat frustrating. She can stand to lose some weight, so I'm not too concerned.

This is a great food and comparable to the high quality ones. My cats go bonkers for it!

I have to feed one of my cats all grain free food-Soulistic seemed like a good choice. One of my rescue cats is sensitive to fish,so,I figured I could feed him this also. Was buying the cans of beef, chicken and turkey in gravy.Soulistic has a sneaky way of putting fish in all their canned food.On the front label it just says "Grain free chicken and gravy" so,you think you are safe to use this food-not so_On the back label all the cans list tuna as the second ingredient.Needless to say-$212.00 vet fee ,I have thrown away all my soulistic cans and returned to Wellness cans, they don't sneak in unwanted fish. Also,Soulistic is manufactured in in Maine but a product in Thailand-means the content of the can is from Thailand.

I've had good luck with Soulistic, but I mostly buy the chicken pate & shreds and chicken good karma in gravy. I did notice most of their foods contain fish, and only feed them infrequently.

Thailand is better than USA, weruva/soulistic come from a human grade facility. Good karma or chicken dinner in gelee have NO fish

Beyond the ones that @bonepicker mentions, two other Soulistic foods don't have fish: the chicken/pumpkin can and pouch. Our cats love them but I drain off most of the gravy because it's pretty goopy with tapioca. I've also found the hard way that you need to read cat food labels carefully. And even often because formulas can change.

For the record, Soulistic and its parent company, Weruva, are based in Massachusetts, not Maine. I also don't have any issues with the company makings its food in Thailand. There's information about that on the Weruva site, here.
