We live less than an hour's drive from the Smoky Mountain National Park. On nice days DH and I like to drive up there and grill out at one of the picnic areas. Today we were going to grill but got stuck in traffic and didn't get out there til late, so we drove the trail at Cades Cove instead. I took some pictures I thought I'd share.

I think we live in a very beautiful area! DH said we will go back in a few weeks when the leaves start changing color more.

The Smokies are my DH favorite place in the country. I have never been there but he has numerous times. (we have only been married 4 years).

Don't know if I will ever get there. With the kitties and all. I am glad he did all his traveling before we got married!!

Beautiful pictures
I love driving through the Smoky Mountains. I want to stay at Pigeon Forge one year with the hubby, a couple friends went last year and ended up getting stuck in the snow, which made hubby happy we didn't go
I would have loved it

I love the Smoky Mountains but have only had the pleasure of driving through once.

I was driving from NY to Houston TX, and drove straight through the first night and as the light came up in the morning I couldn't stop looking, it was "oh my gosh oh my gosh" over and over as I drove, slower and slower. I finally got off the highway for some breakfast and (geographically challenged as I was) finally found out what mountains I was driving through.

I went a different way home two weeks later, so only got to go through the one time,

I love the mountains and live in the Catskill Mountains, but don't like to travel, so probably won't ever pass that way again.

PS stunning pictures, thanks for sharing!

I loved Tenn and the Smoky Mountains when DH and I went last year. We went to check out places to have our wedding, and then again for our actual wedding. We are hoping to go back sometime this year for a weekend. So beautiful down there!
Love the pictures! On the memory card I lost right after our honeymoon, I had an awesome picture of a sunset from our time in the mountains. I wish I had my pictures still!

This is so weird...at dinner tonight I was just talking about a time when I went hiking all by myself in the smoky mountains and scared myself when I saw a gray blur
and talked myself into thinking it was probably a wolf (it very well MAY have been!!) I will never again hike all by myself. Anyway, it was beautiful country. My sister owns property in NW North Carolina, that's why I was there. I, on the other hand, live on the other side of the country, so it was especially wondrous to me!!
