Good Evening

Welb--- woke up this morning to a pain in my chest. I ended up--after an hour of frittzling abouts--calling an ambulance to take me to the hospital.

Welb--i was there the whole day and all we got for the pain in my chest was that they ruled out a heart attack
collapsed lung, or a pneumonia. What do they think I have? He is suspecting a blood clot in my lung--I was given a needle shot of Fragmin to help take some of the pressure off the clot--such as it is--tomorrow I am going back to the hospital to get a VQ test done to see just what is up with my lungs--

So, with the test being done tomorrow morning--I am sitting here asking for some vibes-----

They suspect you have a pulmonary embolism and they sent you home?!!!? They should have admitted you to hospital and started you on IV Heparin and did a CT Scan.

I had one in 2004 and I tell you it was no picnic. I also had pneumonia, plurasy, a collapsed lung and fluid around my lung. The thing they were most concerned with obviously was the clot, because it could break free, get to my heart and be shot through my body, possibly blocking blood to my heart or my brain.

I can't believe they sent you home?!

I hope they know what they're doing, and that your test tomorrow will show an all clear!!

My Mom has had a blood clot in the lungs. She passed out on the job. She now has a, correct me if I'm wrong, Vena Cava filter in her chest to keep a clot from passing through. She spent several days in the hospital in the beginning to get it all figured out. Lots of vibes for you!!

Linda is right, they shouldn't have sent you home if they suspected any kind of blood clot! Blood clots can become dislodged and turn into a much more serious issue if they're not monitored closely. Lots of prayers and vibes heading your way hun for things to be resolved

I know hospitals are not fun, but I would definitely insist that they keep you until you have some firm answers and you are not at risk of having a more serious issue occur while you're at home or out on your own

Well--that is the thing.

When they X-Rayed my chest they did not find anything untoward--he said he just wanted to see whether or not there was anything. As it is I woke up this morning with NO chest pains or shortness of breath--which was how I showed up at the hospital--I still had chest pains but no shortness of breath---kind of makes me wonder how the bejibbers one finds these things if there were no symptoms
---which apparently has happened...

Welb, they are to call me this morning as to the time I'm to show up--if I don't hear from them by 10am I am to call them up--they'll stick me in there then

I've had these kinds of things before I had my heart attack and never had shortness of breath--- sometimes my easophagus spasms just like other muscle groups do on me--just another one of those things

Good grief!!! If they suspected a PE, OMG, why did they send you home? I had one with the birth of my last child over 30 years ago. Was in hospital 10 days, and on blood thinners for months.

No driving, no stairs, NO NOTHING! And they sent you home????

What kind of hospital is this???

IMO this is ammunition for a law suit.

xrays don't show blood clots!!! And the fact that you have had a heart attack in the pasT, I'm sick at the thought of them having sent you home after giving you a single Dalteparin injection!!! They should have admitted you!!! GO BACK NOW!!!!

Exactly! Please insist that at the very least, they do a Coronary CTA, a Lung VQ (ventilation to perfusion) Scan, & some more blood tests (D-dimer blood tests can help determine if there's an issue). I know it isn't fun to be poked and proded, but a few simple tests can make a huge difference in early diagnosis & interventional treatment before anything serious has an opportunity to happen
Keep us posted; sending lots of prayers & vibes your way! Stand your ground- you're the best patient advocate that you can have, definitely insist that they run the proper tests.

Also, if they determine that you do in fact have blood clot issues or an elevated risk for them down the road, please ask about getting compression stockings to wear.

Not being a health professional, I don't know about the sending you home but I want to make you laugh. So, you need Dr. House & his team to give you a differential diagnosis. lol

This morning I got there around 9am. They ran 2 sets of VQ on me ( involving breathing in radioactive gas into the lungs plus a shot of radioactive isotpic blood back into the bloodstream to track that way) and another batch of d-dimer tests--which still showed nothing--all tests came up negative for blood clotting. They even ran MUGA tests on my heart to check on that as well--still nothing.

My lungs showed up clear with NO clots and clear of any fluids
My heart, the same results

So. All that can be determined is that I had an episode of easophigal spasm which has been tied to a previous episode of acid reflux I had issues with awhile back.

The thing about the Fragmin shot and sending me home--the thing here is that I DID NOT have ANY trouble breathing. While, yes, of course there are these times when it would have been a major help to have been kept overnight he only had a slight suspiscion that there MAY have been a SMALL chance of a blood clot showing up--but still nothing showed up--they even did a complete body scan for summat ---I take 80mg Lipitor, 10 mg Ezetrol, as well as 75mg Plavix + the ASA.

I am just glad that there is no clotting going on in here!!
Your vibes worked!! Thanks for the vibing vibes!!
